Hello Friend,

First of all please check for correct drivers for printer.

Secondally : Please draw three different - different color boxes in word and print them on you printer and find out which one color is missing. Example as follows.

Welcome. I bought a new Cartridge (color and black) to my printer HP Photosmart C4480, and all the time a view question mark (?) on the window with ink levels. Maybe I can reset the printer in some way?...

Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer driver software , then connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels. This must reset the fault on the system.

My HP C4480 printer is printing red instead of black

My documents were printing red instead of black so I installed a new black cartridge. No it did not solve the problem. Yes I did run the utility to clean the heads. I finally went into the Printer Properties, advanced settings and set Print in Grayscale to Black Ink Only and it worked. You may need to turn off other settings related to photo printing.

Poor photo printing quality with new color cartridge

Shaking these cartridges does nothing except give you a little exercise. If this is a brand new HP cartridge you are having problems with I would return it to the store you purchased it from. HP brand cartridges should not give you these problems right out of the box. The print defects you are seeing are due to a dried up or clogged print head. If you like you can try hydrating the print head on a water soaked paper towel until the ink starts flowing, but there's a risk you will cross contaminate the colors.

Hp c4480 prints blue instead of black

Check the print properties and verify the black ink cartridge still has ink in it.

Otherwise, you may have a bad ink cartridge. If the cartridge has not been used for a while, the ink gums up the nozzle. You can try cleaning the ink cartridge and slot with alcohol. However, new color and black cartridges may be the best solution.

Printer will not print in black

I will try to help but when you installed the printer and the cartridges, did you remove meaning completely remove the tape on the printed circuit and nozzles of the cartridge? Did you remove all the tapes on the machine? It's not likely that the cartridge is defective when it is that new. Hope this helps.
