My dryer doesn't heat up as hot as it used to and a load now takes 2 - 3 hours to dry. Also, the automatic setting doesn't work (it stays set on less dry or more dry - where ever I set it initially). The timed sections seems to still work but it still has to go through the 70 minute cycle several times to dry the clothes. Thanks for your help!!!
Not a problem with the unit, you have a clogged vent. its generating the heat your e not exhausting the heat properly ck behind the unit for kink, perhaps the outside exhaust hood has a screen thats clogged. dont know where its located but if feasible disconnect the dryer vent and try running a cycle . bet it runs a lot quicker... CLEAN YOUR VENT ITS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD!!!!!
You might be on to something. A few months ago I had HR-FUR came in and clean my vents. They pulled the roof vent flapto seat behind the stopper and the vent won't open thereafter. The heat backed up in the dryer and the house. After that the probleem started. I replaced the control board and it worked fine for about 6 months. Now it started again. . Possibly the dryer was pushed back and the flexible hose is crimped. Thanks I will try that - oening the vent and put a piece of wood in the back of the dryer to prevent it from going back that ar.
