SOURCE: faulty print head

I beleive instructions are included with the new printhead From Canon's site: You may purchase a print head* for this printer through an Authorized Service Facility ( Find a Service Location) , or by calling 1-800-828-4040 between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. midnight, EST, Monday through Sunday. When calling, speak the phrase "order parts" when the speech routing system asks the reason for your call. You will immediately be routed to the Parts Desk for assistance. Be sure to have your model number (i9100) or part number (QY6-0039-000) ready for the sales person. * Please be aware that the part is not returnable. That should do it Ed

My printer prints blank pages when I want to print files from my computer, but works fine without a computer

If you don't use the printer often (at least once a month) you probably have cartridges drying up on you. If by chance you have an Epson or canon, the print head is inside the printer, so regardless of how many new cartridges you put in there, you will encounter the same problem.

If you are using a generic or third party ink, it may be too dense or of low quality clogging yourprint head.

You can try to run a bunch of print head cleanings. (your manual will tell you how) If by about 8 you are not seeing any improvement start with a new printer. Do a print head cleaning once a month ALWAYS as a preventative measure. This will ensure you get a long life out of your printer, and a top quality print from your cartridges.

I installed new ink cartridges and it tells me there are none in the printer...I've tried reinstalling the software, pulling the ink cartridges out and reinsterting them, downloading updates...I don't know...

if you have already done everything that you think is right and still the printer dont detect the cartridge, then you have a printer head problem, have it check by a expert tech. for printer, a print head cleaning may be needed or a replacement is posible take it to them so that they can diagnose whats the problem is causing thses errors

Will not print and error message come up.

The print head has failed, or the logic board is faulty. The print head is cheaper. Try replacing that.

Epson 9600 magenta won't print - have new cap assembly installed

The ink should come out of the cart. if not the cart is the problem at this point try anothere magenta if that does not shore it up then you need to then start looking at the print head where it goes it itself now the store you bought the ink from will give you a replacement no questions asked sometimes even if you dont got the reciept. Try those steps you be glad you did.

Canon pixma ip4500 print head problem 5 lights flashing. Reinstalling print head does not solve problem.

Printhead can be washed under running hot tap to flush all the old ink away. I did mine and it didn't affect performance after drying it overnight in a warm area. Re-fitted it and away it went. Don't worry about getting connector board wet at the back.

Black Ink won't print on my Cannon ip90 Printer

You may need to install a new print head. it is very easy to do yourself (basically the same steps you used to install it when you bought the printer- you can also find step-by-step instructions with pictures on cannons support website http://www.usa.canon.com/opd/controller?act=OPDSupportDropDownAct) What has probably happened is that dried ink has accumulated on the print head and clogged it. the "clean print head" option on the printer is a maintenance function that should be performed regulary to prevent a clog; it is not effective at clearing an already clogged print head.

Continuous aqua/turquoise color even with new cartridge

hey Karyn. The problem that I have experienced with printers with the same problem is a dirty head. Get the instructions on the printer and it will tell you how to clean the head. If after cleaning, still does it then you need to purchase a new head for the machine. Dont be afraid to tear into it. printers are pretty simple. Ink and ink head. If it prints at all it seems to be a dirty head. or worn out. Watch out using ink refills or off brands. Some inks are not very good quality ink and will ruin the head and void the warranty. Use the ink that the machine requests. Staples or Office Depot carries several types of printer heads. Good luck.
