Hi

The first thing you will do is to click on the "Start" menu in the lower left-hand corner of your computer screen. Click on the "All Programs" prompt. This will take you to another menu. In that menu, you will find an "Accessories" category. Go into "Accessories." Once you are in "Accessories," you will find another menu. In this menu you will find a "System Tools" category. Go into the "System Tools" category. Inside "System Tools," you will find a number of programs listed, among them "System Restore." Click on System Restore.
  • 2 Follow the program's prompts. The following program will lead you through a number of screens where you will need to navigate toward restoring your computer to its earlier setting. On the first screen, you are given a couple choices. Choose "Restore my computer to an earlier time," then click "next." The following screen will give you several choices on several days of which date and time you would like to restore your computer to. Choose one, and click "Next."
  • 3 Confirm and restore. The following screen will give you one last chance to confirm the date and time that you will restore your computer to. Make sure that this is the exact date and time that you want it restored to, and click "Next." The computer will turn itself off and automatically restart. When the computer restarts, the restoration should be complete. Your computer will be as it was exactly at the time of the restoration that you chose.
  • 4 Use preventative measures to ensure that you are prepared for the future. The best way to prevent problems with your hard drive in the future is to back up all of your information and programs. The most efficient way to back up all of your programs and data is by storing them on a separate external hard drive. These external hard drives are relatively inexpensive and can be purchased at any electronics store. They generally come with their own installation software and instructions on how to back up your data and computer programs.

    Perform an E-Machine Factory Restore.

Place the recovery disk that came with the eMachines computer into the CD or DVD drive. Restart the computer.
Click "Next" when the operating system restoration screen appears. Click "Repair Your Computer" and then select "Next."
Locate your eMachine's current operating system in the list of available operating systems, such as "Windows Vista." Click the appropriate choice and then choose "Next."
Select "Load Drivers" and wait for the drivers to finish installing. Select "System Restore" and then click "Next."
Scroll down through the list of available restore points. Select the first restore point if you want to completely revert the computer to factory settings. Select a later restore point if you just want to roll back any changes to your computer to an earlier date.
Click "Next" and then select "Finish." Click "Yes" and then choose "Restart" to restore the eMachines computer.

Was deleting unnecessary programs off home computer and may have accidently deleted a program but not sure what it was. The problem is whatever I deleted does not allow me to update any programs such as...

    Best Bet:

Try going to Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore

Go back to before you began removing the programs. Also, remember whenever removing programs always use the uninstall feature, just deleting them can leave a lot of junk in your registry, cause possible corruptions and lead to sluggish PC performance.

My dell d600 wont open web page but is connected to internet

    Perform the Internet Explorer setup:

1- Open Internet Explorer and go to [Tools] and [Internet Options]
    2- Click on "Connections" tab
3- Click on button that says "Setup" and follow the on-screen instructions

If the above doesn't work and your Internet Explorer worked in the last couple days, make sure your browser has not updated to the new Internet Explorer 8 version.
If you have another computer at this location, check if that one can connect to the internet and surf the web
If the above doesn't work (or is not available), your next option is to perform the "System Restore"
1- go to [Start], All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore
2- choose restore my computer to an earlier time and click next
3- choose a date when you last remember internet explorer working and on the window beside it (to the right) choose from the list either "system check point" or something that may be related to updates or Internet explorer (if nothing else, choose System check point)
4- Click next and after the restart, the computer will tell you if it restored successfully.
5- remember, you can only restore to the dates that are in "bold"

Let us know how it goes and rate us. :)

    Loss of Nero Express 6.0

Restore your pc to a previous date. One before you started the update. Click start, click accessories, choose system tools, click restore, choose restore my computer to an earlier time, click next, choose date earlier than update, click next. pc will return to status of that date and should be good to go. Restore will run on it's own, be patient, don't panic. Good luck.

Need registry key to to install printer

Assuming you are running Windows XP, you may be able to repair this issue if you "restore" your computer to an earlier date.

This is a process by which Windows remembers a time when your computer functioned properly, and sets your computer to those settings. Most of the registry problems can be fixed in this manner.

To access Restore feature, click Start and find Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools, then System Restore.

A window should open that asks if you would like to create a restore point, or restore your computer to an earlier date. Choose this later option.

The next screen should show you a calendar. The dates which are bold are dates that you can choose to restore your computer.

You may not fix the problem on the first try; so choose the most recent bold date, and restore. If the printer still will not install, repeat the process with the next older date.

Unfortunately, if this process does not allow you to repair your computer's software, a reinstallation of the operating system may be required.

    Good luck....tony
