Connecting an LG TV to my PC

Hi guys, need some assistance please!
Just having some trouble connecting my LG 19LS4D tv to my PC. At the moment I've got my PS2 and freeview tv running from it.
I've also got my pc connected to it; when i turn on the pc, i get up to the screen with the windows xp black screen, but when it switches to my desktop, the screen goes blank and says 'no input'? If i connect my pc to my old monitor and then switch it on, it works fine and if i then take it out of the monitor and plug it into the LG TV, it works too? Any ideas why it would just stop showing the visual lead halfway through start up?
Many thanks!
Sunny

HI guys my LG tv has optical output but my home theater has Arc output what do I need to make sync. Please help!

If the TV has an HDMI connection you might not need the optical connection. Plug a good quality HDMI connector into your TV and amp and it should pass the TV sound back to your amp in high quality.

Moved to Trinidad with my UK LG TV model number 19LS4D, I am having trouble tuning it to the local channels. Any suggestions please?

The system in the US is different from EU. You might need to get a converter for broadcast signal conversion.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Invalid format indicates issues with the PC Mode, if the signal is not out of range then check the input source.
Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

I am connecting a Technika 1031 to a LG 19LS4D using a good quality scart. I get sound but no picture. Connecting via the Y, Pb/Cb and Pr/Cr ports does nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

Make sure that the proper input is selected on the TV. Also, check to be sure that the correct output is activated on the DVD. I'm not familiar with the Technika brand so verify the output selection in the owner's manual.
If those selections are correct, try connecting to the standard AV input using the Red/White/Yel cable connection.

Connecting to a P.C

It it really has 11 pins I'm not sure but then my guess is that this is the service port connector which normally should have 9 pins. A vga connector has 15 pins and LG (as far as I know) uses standard 9 pin serial ports for service and plain old dvi or vga ports for connecting a computer.

Please visit Hardware Book for more info on connectors and cables.
