2.2 outer/3/0 inner tire/wheel replacement

My son is looking to replace wheels/tires for his Traxxas Slash and would like to find a more high performance tire than what came on the original vehicle (he received the Traxxas Slash for Christmas, 2009).

Please let us know which Proline high performance tires are available in those dimentions (2.2' inner/3.0" outer). He is ideally looking for a heavy duty/nobby type/high performance all terrain tire. Thank you.

Pro line makes a range of tires for different applications. Depending on what surface you are running on. Cement, asphalt, dirt, sand. Go to your local hobby store and pick your tires for the desired surface. I have tires for every surface. And I recommend beadlock rims. A few sets. Because tire changing is easier with these as you don't need to glue them. I use a thin layer od silicone to help the tire stay in place ie: so as not to spin on the rim.

If you are looking for a non race tire, either the Proline Switch or Trencher would work. You can see your choices at www.prolineracing.com.

I just today had the tires aligned and rotated and balenced and its still shaking help!

Could Be many factors wheel bearings etc was the tires high speed balanced? Check inner outer bearing and tie rods etc !! More Info Please!!

Front right tire wobbles as if out of balance at speeds of 60-65 mph even after getting it balanced.

Assuming the wheel and mounted tire is balanced and the wheel is not bent would point to play in the front end suspension ball joints (control arm ,steering arm, tie rod), worn suspension bushings, or worn strut cartridges. However, some balancing is done at low revolutions rather than high speed balancing. The tire itself could have a belt that is separating in the tire that gets worse the faster it goes. Was the tire dismounted and remounted? Do you see a noticeable odd wear pattern on the tread? With the car up on a jackstand, grab the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock and try to shake looking for play; then do the same thing at 9 and 3 o'clock. Check that all of the rods rods are tight especially near the ball joint and the bushings have not deteriorated. Loose wheel lug bolts/nuts are another cause.

The front left tire wiggles when going at a high speed

Do you have the radio on? Maybe it likes the music... Okay, so enough of that...
The wheel could be bent.
The tire out of round.
The bearing could be bad.
The tie Rod could be out or going out.
The tie rod-end could be bent or worn.
The Ball joint could be allowing it to wander.
Lotsa stuff.
Start with the simple things. Replace the wheel and tire.
If it does not run out okay then move to the tie rod. Lifting the car up and securing it on a jack, shake the wheel in your hands about 3 and 9 o'clock.
Does it feel loose? if so, inner or outer tie rod.
Is the tie rod tube bent? Look at it. Only way is to see it.
Ball joint: Lift the suspension just enough to take the tension off the wheel assy. Shake at twelve o'clock and six o'clock. Does it feel loose?
Any looseness indicates the issue...
roll the wheel on the car. Does it growl? Should like something other than smooth? if so, replace it.
Does that help? Let us know!

I have rubbing on the inside of my drivers side front tire, the passenger tire is fine. normally i would think this was an alignment issue but only the one tire i have a problem with. The ware is on the...

What you describe is most often caused by a bad tie-rod end, which is part of your steering. This causes the clunking that you feel when you turn, and the tire wear.
Jack up the front drivers side and when the wheel is off the ground, try to force it left and right. If you feel any play in it, a tie rod end is bad.
To find out if it is the inner or outer tie rod end, look underneath and locate the tie rod for that wheel- it will look like a pole about an inch thick. Get somebody to move the wheel left and right like you did, and look on either end of the tie rod for which end is moving. That will be your bad tie rod end. The "outer" is the one by the wheel- the other one is the "inner". Most often it is the outer tie rod end that goes bad.
It is important to get a bad tie rod end replaced as soon as possible because it can separate and cause you to lose control of your car when the wheel will suddenly turn either in or out, depending on which way you are steering when it fails. After a tie rod end is replaced, your car will need an alignment to set the adjustment correctly. If you are changing it yourself, mark how far the old one is threaded in so your alignment will be fairly close to where it was.
Good luck, and Thank You for using FixYa!

Bent tire rod

that person is correct. remove the wheel and look at the tie rods. this vehicle uses a rack and pinion system so look at the rod connecting the rack to the outer tie rod. you will more than likely endup replacing the inner tie rod. then take it to an alignment shop and get it aligned.

There is a roaring in the left front tire area. I think it is the wheel bearing?

Swap tires & see if it's stays or goes. Then have bearing checked if your not sure what it should exactly sound like. Does it change sound when turning?
