My laptops screen will not turn on and the lock with 9 keeps blinking. what is wrong with it??

if there is no display showing at all you may want to reset the CMOS of your motherboard. to do this try undoing the ram panel from underneath the computer. make sure the computer is turned off and the battery unplugged. remove the ram, turn the computer on and you should hear some beeping. turn the computer back off, replace the ram and then turn it back on again, this should give you video output if the screen isn't faulty

sounds like the ram is fauly

Common issue. Your options are.
1. Replace the motherboard
2. Check out the DIY repair guide on http://www.bootmylaptop.com
3. Take the hard drive out, turn on the laptop and wrap the laptop in a towel(don't wrap the screen) for like an hour to let the heat fix it. Doesn't always work, but you have nothing to loose at this point.

sounds like you need to enter a code or password unless its for a different overseas market--lobby support line with serial number,,they might be able to tell you market ect

First you need to determine how many blinks you are getting when you try to power on the laptop.

at this point, you should back up all your data and reinstall the operating system.

Try reseating the RAM modules, see if any change. If none, try the modules one at a time

something might be wrong with your computer have you changed any of your computer specs? like video card, ram, anything unusual you might have done?

Did you try to start in safe mode? Turn on the laptop and start tapping the <F8> key. This will bring you to a menu with different options and select ‘Safe mode”. If that doesn’t work, try connecting an external monitor to the laptop. You may have to select the video output to display on the external monitor by holding down the blue <FN> key and pressing the blue CRT/LCD (located on one of the <F> keys, like F8,F9, etc..).
If the laptop display works in safe mode, then you probably have a video software driver problem.
If the display works on the external monitor in normal mode, then you probably have a problem with either your LCD panel.
