Unplug your power coed. 1) Place the stitch width to it's widest. 2) Remove the top cover. 3) Spray a little penetrating oil (wd40) behind the reverse button. 4) Start pushing the reverse button until it freely move. Unplug your machine and use a cotton swab in and round the button area. Hopefully enough of it will get in there and dissolve the gunk that is jamming it up. If that doesn't work get some "liquid wrench" and some "electronics cleaner" spray... spray liberally allow to set (catch the drips with a cloth) and push and pull the button if you can to work it free. Then wipe up the mess really well.
If it is too bad you may have to take the head apart... a daunting task for most.
