My bosch fridge freezer's alarm light has started t turn on and ice cream is going soft. the temp setting display shows -18. turning off and on the appliance switches off the alarm light for a bit. i currently have it on super freeze to keep the food fresh. i have check door seals and they seem ok. what could be the problem?

the fridge section will not freeze ice cream as the lowest setting 1- is not cold enough
The thermostat is normally on the side panel inside the compartment and is measured 1-10 with 4 being around the best setting
if you are referring to a 2 door fridge where the top or bottom section is the freezer, that temp will be preset in the factory and has nothing to do with the thermostat but indicates - door not sealed properly
compressor failure and needs a technician to check out the reason why

For your door to close properly take off the gasket from your fridge and wash it with hot water. It will be softer and stick to the fridge much easier.

Turn the t'stat up to 9. You want to save the meat and ice cream. It sounds like you may be losing freon. Get it looked at soon so you won't come home and find meat soft and ice milk.

I keep min two notches from the coldest setting.A great way to check where you should set yous,is ice cream.Put an open container of ice cream in the freezer,and turn the freezer to coldest.The next day try to scoop the ice cream.If the ice cream is hard the freezer is too cold.Adjust the freezer two notches ,and try the ice cream the next day.Repeat till you are happy with the hardness of the ice cream.It should be easy to scoop but not too soft.

Best thing to do first is get a thermometer to be sure the temperature is correct. Items still freeze at higher temperatures. If you have ice cream and it is soft, then you have a temp problem.

these freezer are designed to run about 70 percent of the time the temp displayed can vary by +/- 3 degrees..make sure you have fan operation in the freezer and the air flow is not blocked or restricted. also make sure that the door is sealing properly

the ice cream is the clue,if it goes hard then the temp is too low (ice cream best kept at -18C)
either the defrost is not working or interior temp sensor duff.

the alarm light is conected threw to the thermostat and is disighned to worn you if the freezer has wormed up obove freezing tepteratures. it is on and the freezer is still working ok then there is a fault in the control. Please check the temperature using ice creem as you gage if the freezer holds icecream to a hard consistancy then the freezer is working good . ice cream hardens at around -10 f anything wormer and its soft . you could have the control replased but the standard replacement controls dont have the temp alarm options. hope this helped. p/s if you are living in a worm climate enshure the freezer has adiquit air cerculation oround the cabinet.
