The only screens you can clean are located in the throat of the water inlet valve which can be acess from removing the water hoses, dont know where or what screens you could possibly get to be lifting hte top

I have a maytag neptune washer top load the washer stays in wash cycle and will not go to next cycle.

Clean out the pump. Ours was doing that as well, when our mechanic looked at it he could find nothing wrong with it so he looked at the pump and it was full of mud and junk. He said once it is cleaned out you have to run it twice a month empty to keep it clean. Ours has worked great since.
