When I try to play my new ringtone it says Format not Supported

i think is about profile settings, you should make sure about texts rington is not in silent mode, if problem persist this is minor software error, try to reset factory settings by settings, search on you tube how to set factory settings.thsi will solve the problem.

you select a ringtone from your phone if it is otherwise download a ringtone ....and after the reaching ringtone you select your ringtone for your text msg , you just click the option botton ............in option, one option would of set ringtone.....
then press ok botton.........

Change your ringtone
1. In Menu mode, select Settings → Phone profiles.
2. Scroll to the phone profile you are using.
3. Press <Options> → Edit.
4. Select Voice call ringtone.
5. Select a ringtone category → a ringtone.
6. Press <Save>.

In the settings folder under profiles you have to have yours set to normal and then go back and set the file as a ringtone.

Your ringtones will be in Filemanager/sounds.Please check whether you can access the ringtone there and you can play it. This is because you cannot play all the file formats in your phone.If it is possible, then just press right soft key and you can see the options for setting it as ringtone.PLease ask if you need any further info.Njoy

Most samsung models dont let you use ringtones as txt alert. Soz.

First you have to go to menu>my stuff>tools and utilities>voice memo>and you record a voice. When you are done recording, save it then go to menu>settings>profiles. Now you press the options key on profiles and go to customize and you click. Scroll down to message sound and click on it. Choose audio>my voice>and choose the recording that you want to be for your message. Press options>select. You should then be taken back to your messaging and ringtone settings. press the options>save.

u have to change the alert that you set as your ringtone, that's the only way to stop it. So try it and see if that works

yes there is just go back into the setup and look at what you have as your text msg alert and change it.

Just copy the ringtone in phone memory which you want to set. It will give you option to set it as ringtone.
