If you created a backup of your old iPod before it was lost, you should have had an option when you first connected your device to iTunes to restore or use as a new iPod. If you created it as a new iPod, and have a backup, you can restore it by clicking 'Restore' under 'Version' (Summary tab) in iTunes on your device pane.

If you did not backup your iPod before it was lost, and created a new acocunt to use the new one, you can change it by going to the App Store on your device and scroll to the bottom and tap on the button that says 'Account: [email protected]', sign out and login with the old iPod's account.

If you definately have the correct account associated with your device, make sure the 'Sync apps' checkbox is checked under the Apps tab in your device pane (find you iPod under Devices on the sidebar), and the apps you wish to sync are also checked.

Hope this helps,

Thomas

He can use them again. Make sure that the ipod is synced under the same itunes account that was used to buy the apps.

Resetting Ipod to Factory Settings. Will you lose all apps purchased?

Everything synced on your comouter should be restored once your done with the factory reset. If you have apps that aren't synced to your computer, then don't worry because.your apple account saves all free and paid purchases so that you can download them again at a later time. Hope I helped. Sorry youve been waiting for a response for so long

Why does my ipod say connect to itunes

Connect to iTunes means that your iPod Touch is in Recovery mode.
Simply plug your iPod Touch into your computer, laptop, or netbook and iTunes will tell you to restore to the latest firmware. Press "OK" and it'll download the latest firmware. In this case "iOS4".
Once it's done you'll have to sync all your music, games, apps ect what you have lost or choose a Back-Up.
Hope this helps :)

My Apps wont open

Hello, Apple support rep here.
Have you tried deleting them and re-syncing them from iTunes? If so and that did not work, backup your library (music purchases, etc) then do a fresh soft install (restore) and put the backup you made previously back on. If that doesn't work please let me know.

Apps won't sync to Ipod Touch

Not always automatic. You do need to go into the apps tab while in iTunes (looking at the highlighted iPod) and select the apps to sync. As long as the box is checked next to it and you legitimately own the app and it is iPod Touch compatible, it should work without a hitch.

How to sync .ipa files from comp to iphone thru itunes ?

when you sync the iPhone with the computer, iTunes will only add what is new, it will not delete your apps.

Setting Up Syncing You use iTunes on your computer to set up which items are synced. Make sure you have the most recent version of iTunes (On a PC, open iTunes and choose Help > Check for Updates. On a Mac, open iTunes and choose iTunes > Check for Updates.
Step 1: Connect iPhone or iPod touch
  1. Connect iPhone or iPod touch to your computer using the included cable. You can connect the cable from your computer directly to iPhone or iPod touch, or connect the cable from your computer to the Apple Universal Dock (available separately) and put iPhone or iPod touch in the dock. By default, iTunes opens automatically.
  2. Select iPhone or iPod touch in iTunes under Devices on the left hand side and click the Info tab.
Step 2: Set Up Which Items Are Synced Click the respective tabs in iTunes to specify which media and information you want synced from your computer to iPhone or iPod touch.
For more information about syncing iPhone with your computer see the iPhone User's Guide:
On your computer: click here to download and view "Chapter 1: Getting Started" in iPhone User Guide.
On iPhone: Tap Safari and view http://help.apple.com/iphone/guide/.
For more information about syncing iPod touch with your computer:
On your computer, click here to download and view "Chapter 1: Getting Started" in iPod touch User Guide.
On iPod touch: Tap Safari and view http://help.apple.com/ipodtouch/guide/.

Step 3: Sync iPhone or iPod touch Click Apply in the lower-right corner of the screen. Your computer syncs with iPhone or iPod touch according to your settings.
The first time you sync iPhone or iPod touch, you are asked if you want to merge data, replace data on the service, or replace the data on your computer. After that, anytime you connect iPhone or iPod touch to your computer, iTunes opens and syncs with iPhone or iPod touch according to your settings.
You can adjust sync settings anytime iPhone or iPod touch is connected to your computer. You can only connect and sync with one iPhone or iPod touch at the same time. If you need to sync more than one iPhone or iPod touch, disconnect one before connecting the other.
Note: Syncing won't delete any contact in Yahoo! Address Book that contains a Messenger ID, even if you've deleted the contact from your address book on iPhone or your computer. To delete a contact containing a Messenger ID, log in to your Yahoo! account online and delete the contact using Yahoo! Address Book.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
