Question about Magic Sing Along Consumer Microphone
I just bought the Magic Sing EG-18000 and there is a sever delay on the microphone. When you sing into the mic, it takes 2 seconds for it to come out of the TV speakers. I am using the yellow, white and red wires into a Video out port on my TV. Any ideas, please?
I bought et18k. just the same as yours.its 2 days old and has the same
problem. the technical assistant says that its because of the digital
setting that new tvs have. there are two ways to solve this though:
1. connect the video (yellow plug) to the tv. and the other two plugs (yellow and white) to the stereo. when i say stereo, its not the dvd home theater system that you have but a separate one. if you connect it to the home theater that you have, it'll just sound the same, you still have the delay.
2. connect the magic sing to the older tvs hangin out. and you'll get no problem at all.
**TVs such as sony, samsung, philips, sharp and all plasma tvs including other newly designed tvs will have the delay since they all share the HDMI thingy that causes sh*t.

I had the same problem (voice lag) when connecting the MagicSing directly to the tv (samsung) or the dvd recorder.
Thanks to the comments on this site, I was able to fix it.
Connected the audio component of the Magic Sing to my amp which hooks up to external speakers. I connected the video component directly to the tv.
Therefore the sound was not running thru the TV but through external speakers.. And only the video/screen output was showing on the TV.
This worked great!

Hi I had the same problem years ago with my expensive plasma tv but fixed it by connecting the red n white plugs to my hi fi..
BUT I have since been waiting for my ET23KH to arrive from love2karaoke cus that's got HDMI n it's supposed to correct that problem that many if us used to get. Plus it looks like its got more features than my et18k

I fixed mine the same way. I do not know why there should be a delay going through the RCA inputs on the plasma TV, but running the audio through a separate amplifier with only the video going into the RCA inputs works with mine.

I have an ED8000 which worked fine until we got a plasma tv and a HDD/DVD recorder. Each adds a delay to the audio which creates and overall echo and long delay which is unacceptable. I fixed it by running the video direct to the TV and the audio direct to the amplifier. All echoes and delays now history. You might need an extra extension audio/video cable but it worth the effort for ~ $3.
