When you add an IDC-A09 changer to a pre-2004 car, you should not need to enter any code, it should just plug and play. If you have added an IDC-A09 changer to a post 2004 car the you have probably got the wrong changer. Post 2004 cars *usually* need the IDC-A04 changer, which looks identical.

The IDC-A04 uses CAN-bus while the IDC-A09 uses VAN-bus wiring. The two are not interchangable.

It most likely means you are entering the wrong code.

To reset, leave SWITCHED ON...UNDISTURBED and it will automatically reset after a while.

To check your code, post ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on any labels, barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.

Also quote the radio and car MAKE + MODEL

I don't suppose you're still around on here at all?

I recently purchased an IDC A09 to use in my Stilo, after the last one purchased from Ebay was a dud.

The one I have now connects OK, and the mechanisms all start moving, etc, but I do not have the code.

2 different sources have provided codes, but both were wrong, unfortunately.

Do you have the means to generate a code? I am concerned that a past owner of this one may have set their own code or something, if that is possible?

My details off this changer are:

    Serial: BP915034456839
    Part No: 7 607 769 150

    idc a09 Made in Portugal.

Fitted to a 2002 Fiat Stilo Active with radio cassette factory head unit.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Hey there i have a 1997 BMW 328i and i changed my battery n when i started the car up my radio said code wait andd now i cant get rid of it please help me fix this. thank you ...

Hi chris,

Code wait is part of the built in anti-theft system BMW has for the radio. The ignition must remain in the on position for 1 continuous hour. Usually rush hour traffic does the trick. You will need the radio code to enter into the radio after it displays "CODE". just enter the code according to the buttons listed 1-6. ie if it ask for 13556, just enter the digits in that sequence. Make sure you have the correct code. If 3 unsuccessful consecutive entries are made, you will have to wait another hour.

How can you get your radio to work in you 1994 saab? when you disconnect the battery what is the next step to resetting the code?

Anti- Theft Lock

1. Switch on the ignition

2. Press the VOL/ ON switch to turn on the system on, CODE IN will appear in the display.

3. Enter the 4 digit code using the preset buttons. The system will now appear.
- I believe the code for your car is 5253, but you might want to call the Saab dealer for the code

If yu make a mistake while entering your code, finish entering all four digits. Press and hold BAND switch until CODE IN appears in the display. The correct code can now be entered.

NOTE: If you enter an incorrect code three times in succession, you must wait one hour with the Audio Sysytem turned on before making a new attempt. After the one hour waiting period, the system will allow only one code entry attempt. If the code entry is incorrect, you must again wait one hour before another attempt.

I have the unlock code for my 99 saturn sl2 but i need the radio layout

Hello, you will need to enter your radio unlock code using these instructions.

  1. Press SEEK DOWN, SEEK UP, TUNE DOWN, or TUNE UP. The radio display should show 0000.
  2. PRESS SEEK DOWN to set the first digit.
  3. Press SEEK UP to set the second digit.
  4. Press TUNE DOWN to set the third digit.
  5. Press TUNE UP to set the fourth digit.
  6. If the code was entered correctly, the radio will display SEC (SECURE). The theft deterrent system for the radio is now active and normal operation may be resumed. If the code was entered incorrectly, the radio will display Err for 5 seconds and the LOC (LOCKED) will be displayed again. If LOC is displayed, repeat 1-6.
  7. If the correct code is not entered in 8 attempts, follow the next steps:
  8. 7.1. Turn ignition to ACC position. 7.2. Turn radio power switch OFF. 7.3. Wait one hour before repeating steps 1 through 7. If attempts to unlock the system are made before the one hour period is up, the radio will display INOP (INOPERATIVE). Continue to wait. If the ignition is not in the ACC position, power will never reset internally to allow itself to be unlocked. 7.4. After one hour, repeat steps 1-7.

1994 900 s radio code

If the code is entered incorrectly 3 times then you have to wait an hour, with the radio turned on, you will then get 1 chance to enter the correct code. Get it wrong and you have to wait another hour before you can try again.
Check with the dealership that you have the correct code. They will be able to tell you if you give them the VIN.

How to reset the raido

Hello,

There is a trick to the procedure. You have to turn the key to position 1 or the first stop on the ignition. Turn on the radio and wait between 2.0 to 3.0 hours for the radio to reset and ask for the code. From the owners manual. My 97 takes between 2:25 and 2.5 hours to reset. Every radio is different.

To enter the code:

After installation or when the set has been disconnected from power, the set displays "codE" when it is switched on.
Enter the 4-digit code using the preset buttons. If the correct code is entered, "on" is displayed and the set is ready to use.
If you enter an incorrect code you must enter the correct code again from the beginning.

Incorrect code

If an incorrect code has been entered "rPt" is displayed. Enter the correct code.
After three unsuccessful coding attempts the set will lock and remain locked for two hours.
"OFF" is displayed.

During this waiting period:

the battery must be connected
the ignition key must be turned to position I
the unit must be turned on
Make sure the headlights are turned off to help prevent battery drain (please refer to page 2:6 for information on turning the headlights off). Enter the code again once this time has elapsed.

Goodluck!
