Question about HP Photosmart C5380 All-In-One Laser Printer

2 Answers

Ink System Failure - Photosmart C5380 - 0xc19a0023. Unit has been in home use for over a year and has not given any problems other than cartridge low reports. Could leaving the cartridge in till all ink is used and print affected contribute to failure? Looked at the previous question asked for ink system failure error 0xc19a0036 and will try the solution proposed. Does the different error number indicate a different problem or similiar? Will also try a cleaning solution for the removable printhead.

Ink Failure on HP photosmart premium C309g printer

Turn off the machine, unplug the power cord from the back of the machine, remove the ink cartridges (lift the lid up at the base of the control panel), wait 2 min, plug the power cord back in, press the on button, wait until the printer prompts that the ink cartridges are missing, then replace the ink cartridges. If this doesn't fix the problem you may have to re-prime the ink lines to clear the error. You can find instructions for this at http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/hp-photosmart-ink-system-failure-1/.

Hp photosmart c7250 ink system failure

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink or toner cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled (the absolute worst possible choice) or third party cartridges (2nd. Worst possible choice) that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks or toner causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead or photo conductors.
If you are using factory new ink or toner cartridges, then please call the manufacturer’s Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

It's probably telling you it is out of ink.
The ink system can fail if the cartridges in the product are installed incorrectly, if the ink in the cartridge is low or out, or if the cartridges are damaged or not correctly vented.

Here's the HP page that details the solutions for this problem:

Not sure how to help you. Ink failure I would think is cartridge failure. Are you original virgin cartridges or refills? I need the actual error message that the printer is giving.
