Laminator wrinkles my laminator is the RSC-1400 C, and it intermittenly chews up my freshly printed signs. (it creates) big wrinkes, and ruins my prints) The manual does not troublshoot this problem, but we are wasting alot of money reprinting and relaminating everything wew do. There is no rhyme or reason. Anyone know what causes this problem?

I have an SRL- 2700 plus laminator, it stopped when laminating after a few minutes it turned off and now it won't turn on?

If your SRL-2700 Plus laminator stopped working and won't turn on, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the power supply: Ensure that the laminator is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet. Try using a different outlet or connecting another device to the same outlet to verify if the power source is the issue.
  2. Reset the laminator: Look for a power switch or a reset button on the laminator. Turn the laminator off, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and try turning it on again. This can help reset any internal electronics or safety mechanisms that may have caused the laminator to shut off.
  3. Inspect the power cord: Check the power cord for any signs of damage, such as frayed wires or cuts. If you notice any issues, it's important to replace the power cord with a suitable replacement to ensure safe operation.
  4. Examine the thermal fuse: Some laminators are equipped with a thermal fuse that can trip and cause the unit to shut off if it overheats. If the laminator was being used extensively or for an extended period before it stopped working, it's possible that the thermal fuse tripped. You may need to open up the laminator (if you're comfortable doing so) and check the thermal fuse. If it's blown, it will need to be replaced by a professional or an authorized service center.
  5. Contact customer support or a service center: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to reach out to the manufacturer's customer support or an authorized service center for further assistance. They will have specific knowledge about your SRL-2700 Plus laminator and can provide guidance on troubleshooting or repair options.
Always prioritize safety when working with electrical devices. If you're unsure or uncomfortable performing any troubleshooting steps, it's best to consult a professional technician or service center for assistance.

Royal Sovereign International APL-330U 13 in. Thermal & Cold 4 Roller Pouch Laminator WILL NOT TURN ON, but FAN IS RUNnING.

Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Please don't type in all CAPS, it is considered SHOUTING and is harder to read.

royal Sovereign is a make without a maker and are probably made in China, you can try contacting them though. They will say just buy a new one unless you can get them on a warranty replacement.

Fargo HDP5000 printer stuck on "laminator Startup", sometimes it will give me "error 217 message, and sometimes it is just stuck on "laminator startup" the printer works without the laminator attached

It could be the laminator has gone bad. It could also be a timing issue with the startup sequence upon power-up. As you'll note, there are 2 power-supplies for the printer with laminator - one for the printer/flipper, and a second for the laminator. When powering up the system the laminator is supposed to be ready and respond to a query from the printer during its startup sequence. If the printer is ready before the laminator, then you can get such an error. To check for this, plug-in/power-up the laminator about 5 seconds prior to the printer to see if the behavior changes and it now works.

If results are the same, next double-check the connector between the printer and laminator to ensure there are no broken or bent pins or connector "fingers", and that the connection is secure. The gap separating the printer and laminator should be tight and even top-to-bottom as well, ensuring a good connection.

Also double-check your power-supplies. They should be identical and, if a recent model, will have a small silver sticker affixed that shows the printer serial number on it (check the manufacturer's plate your printer/laminator for serial-number, and make sure your power-adapters match it).

If none of the above resolve the issue, then contact your Fargo dealer for servicing or further support. If you don't have a dealer relationship and you're located in the USA, feel free to reach out to us!

Good Luck!

Do I insert the printed paper into clear pouch & just put these 2 items into Smith Corona Laminator LX900? Do I need a heavy paper protector to surround these 2 items? How do I order a protector?

use what is called laminating pouches
you put what you want laminated in the pouch, centre it so that the edges all have the same space, wait until the green light on the laminator appears and enter the pouch with the folded end in first.
It will slowly move through and seal off as it goes
make sure that the pouch is entered square to the rollers or it will crease the finished product or jam the laminator
there is no need for any additional equipment

Laminator squeals

The paper is fed into the laminator by rollers usually a top and bottom, one of them is usually made of silicone(rubber) check to see if tose rollers are turning, you may have to pull some covers off to see the rollers, but usually you can look in the throat where the paper is fed in and see these rollers with a flashlite. Not sure of the brand, big or small laminator, good luck. If rollers are not turning, some are belt driven, some are motor driven, could even be a control board or switch.
