You need to reformat you memory card, but before you do that save all your information on your computer and then drag and drop the files back to the card after u have reformated it and place them in the dcim folder that is the file the phone reads to pull pics from within the device
try it one more time does the card have a small switch on it ? like a its locked if so move it to unlocked and it should format if not, then try to format it one more time if it doesnt take sounds like the card is bad :\
the 2 gig cap on the card would make it not read the card so that could be part of the issue, when you do get the new card make sure to format it though so there will be a smooth transition to the new device. all the pics will go into the dcim folder and music will generally go into audio or music

SOURCE: putting music on nokia 6205 from memory card
1. put card in computer and format
2. put card in phone, take a picture
3. open music app on phone (nothing should show up)
4. take out card, put in computer
5. copy songs to the newly created my_music folder
make sure all song filenames are only the song titles. all other information (artist, track number, album, etc, should go in the IDv3 tag as the phone will read this information).
I have 2 of these phones, and this is what seems to work for me.

That's easy guys...Just install the pc suite to tour computer, backup all of your datas, and go to the software updater..
Then, continue the procedures, and restore your backup to your 5800..
It will be fine..Ok...
SOURCE: Memmory card will not work with the phone
Unfortunately, the highest you can go with a Sync is a 2gb microSD card.
microSD is not the same as microSDHC and older phones will not read the newer microSDHC format.

I did this but it says that the format failed :(
I believe my problem is that I was trying to use a 4gb card. Someone told me that this phone only can hold up to a 2gb card. I will get a 2gb card and try. Thanks for your help
