IC-2SAT Can the internal battery be replaced? If so, where would one find a replacement?

This is a HF, VHF and UHF transceiver.

As this is such a fine radio, I would take it to the radio doctor for a once over check-up, The technician will find the problem and give you an estimate of cost to repair the fault, Take care of you radio, it's a great unit that should give you many more years of service.

Its input-output selector switching IC is faulty. this IC, an electronic switching device, that switches the internal and external audio vidw in-out and is controlled be main system control IC. When we select the function to internal or external, the signals goes through this IC according to the control pulsed generated by the main system control IC, with our command. In your set, the video section of this switching IC is OK, but audio switching section has damaged. It wont switches the video to out, but alright in case of internal video switching. So you can see picture either with AV of by air transmissions, but there will be no audio with AV.
Replace the IC is the only remedy to rectify this problem. It is really a skilled work, and you must have through knoledge in digital electroncis to do this work. It is besf for you to get it repaired by any experienced service technician. The IC won't cost more; and can be bought from most of the electonic sparepart shops at your town. OK.

Before trying to replace an IC, make sure that the battery is capable of holding a charge. If there is more than 1 battery, check all. If it (they) are bad, it will probably be less expensive to replace the unit.

You have an IC (Integrated Circuit) that has shut off internally. Try complete power down (remove any electrical power - includes any internal batteries) overnight. Then try again. If this doesn't work, it's an IC malfunction.

There might be 2 reasons for the same.

1. An internal Ic might have been blown. In this case, you need to open the cell. Remove the battery. with the help of a Voltmeter, check the voltage across all IC's. The blown IC would be a bulged or seemd to be swelled.Replace that and the problem would be fixed.

Even if you repair it from outside, it would not hurt your pocket.

2. Motherboard - If this is at fault, you might need to pay around half the amount that you spent on cellphone.It's really hard to fix and more likely demands a replacement. The main disadvantage, you cannot use motherboard of some other cell. It has to be a unique one i.e same model.


Note - I am considering that the battery is fine and fully charged. If not sure, swap the battery.

check the jack female and male jacks r allright
the connection is correct u need to check these first
then u if nothing works use the fuse replacement
