Just put in a blue ray disk and now wont even play a game or regulkare dvd

Are you trying to put a Blu Ray disc in an Xbox 360? Blu Ray discs can only be played in a Blue Ray player or a PS3. Did you mean something else by Blue disk?

Look at the back of the box to see it says it is a region one or multi-region disk. Then I would try to play it in another PS3 to see if it will work.

What it sound like even through they put region 1 on the box the disk may be actually a multi-region disk so that the manufacture can press the same disk more.

The problem with this is the PS3 it set to play region 1 only disk. I had not seen this will Blu-ray disks yet but I have alot of DVD Anime titles that say region 1 on the box but the disk is actually multi-regioned.

Note if you are not in region 1 (US) then the same thing would apply to you home region.

Use an Iris cleaner to remove the dirt from the laser eye.

Hired disks are usually dirty and deposit muck on the reading eye over a oeriod of time. This needs too be regulkarly cleaned. That way you will have less of the unreadable errors

Blue colored disks are the hardest for your ps2 to read, there is an adjustment to try to improve this, but it requires opening your console and digging into the DVD drive. Most people don't bother with it unless it won't play other disks. Here is a link to instructions:

The blue ray drives are system specific. You won't be ablt to just trade oout the drives, you need to keep the logic board from your old drive and put it on the new drive. They all have a code that matches the motherboard and dvd drive logic board.

You seem to have alot of problems with your console.

sounds like the lens servo my be ought , this is the small motor that ajust the lens between playing a game, movie, or blu-ray

The lazer or the chip on the drive control board are faulty,give sony a call,their support line is very good,they may even replace your console even if its out of warranty(they did for me).

I left all ready some important help about this issue.
I do believe you have a faulty laser since ps3 have 2 diode laser on the same mechanic and each one is independent for loading your disk.You can read dvd movie but no blue ray disk or Ps3 game or vice versa.

The ps3 has been known to have a problem with the blue ray laser eye. If the problem persists you should call sony and arrange to have it shipped to them, if you are still under manufacturers warranty it will be of no charge to you, out of warranty service is around $150. Sony support can be found at www.us.playstation.com
