Maytag Dishwasher Quiet Series 200

The problem I am having:
The dishwasher will fill with water and go through all of the cycles, and drain properly, but will never activate neither sprayer arm. From what I have read, I believe this motor has a forward and reverse. I direction is to drain water and the other is to pump water to the sprayer arms?? Is the motor "shot" or could there be a solenoid or something, that is not switching somehing over??

My dishwasher will go through all the cycles and the dishes will come out dirtier on the top rack then when they were put in. They go in clean and need sterilizing but come out with filth in the top. Is it possible the sprayers or in and out to the garbage disposal are reversed? Is it a sellenoid or some other function.

The 3 symbol on the face control panel light is on and starts flashing anytime you push any other button, and is full of water in the bottom of it. My wife says she stopped the washing cycle a couple of days ago but now it wont start back up.
This is a Maytag series 200

When you press and hold the button with the 3 (and the shape of a padlock) it locks the panel. On my model, it is the "Heated Dry" button.
    1. Pressing and holding that button for 3 seconds locks the panel.
    2. Pressing and holding it again for 3 seconds unlocks the control panel.
This function is probably used so kids cannot come by and start/stop the dishwasher.

Maytag quiet series 200 dishwasher spray arms won't turn

Have you tried tighten the spray arms? They may have come lose at the fittings so need to be tightened up. You can normally tighten them with your hand. Take any traps/filters out of the dishwasher and clean them.

Dishwasher won't drain--Maytag Quiet Series 300

A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

Many dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With these systems, the motor always rotates in one direction. When it's energized, the drain valve diverts the water.

Other dishwashers simply reverse the direction of the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't have a drain valve. Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to the pump housing.

Our Maytag quiet series 200 does not clean or rinse dishes properly. It leaves film all over cups and dishes. Water also seems not to be draining out. It is 6 years old

It is not the dishwasher. The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

Quiet Series 200: The water is not draining out.

6 to 7 years is about right without put out major repair costs. Unfortunately salesmanship is the biggest racket going. I'd scrap it or sell it for parts. Sorry

Hi jeffwirch,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: You have a maytag quiet series 300. When it is done with any of the cycles in leaves about 1-2 inches of water in the bottom of the dishwasher. You can manually hit the start button twice and it will go through a 2 minute cycle and pump out the water. You have cleaned the filter inside the dishwasher where it drains and have checked the hose to the disposal and it pumps out fine. It just doen't pump itself at the end of the cycle.

It sounds like a bad control board. It's in the top of the door panel. I don't recomend this repair to the average homeowner. You might consider the Repair Directory to find a repairman.

Water does not drain completely, mostly but not completely and just stays there Maytag Quiet Series 100

If the machine has a auto sensor or auto clean cycle it is supposed to keep water in the bottom. The sensor has to stay wet for it to work properly. My Maytag drains, then fills slightly to do this.
