I fixed my problem by removing the BATTERY then the MEMORY CARD which I replaced with an empty formatted memory card and replaced battery then connected Camera to my LAPTOP and on the LCD it was saying setting USB connection then with mode switch set on Camera I turned on the Camera and in the top left of LCD was the camera icon then all I had to do is reset D/M/Y and time now the pictures I take look even better .
I have the same problems, any suggestions?
Thanks

My camera viewfinder says system erreor and then shuts oss
I am also unable to view pictures on my LCD screen. My viewfinder works and so does my LCD screen as far as showing the subject when shooting a picture but when I switch to try and view what I just shot I get..."System Error" and then it powers down. The manual sadi to remove and replace the batteries , tried that....didn't help !
My brother in law who lives in Phoenix, AZ had the same problem, for about $15, a local camera shop, replaced the internal battery. Unfortunately, I cant find anyone who can tell me where I can locally-Michigan purthase this internal battery and online all I can get information about is the AA's that are used in it as well. The nearest is Chicago and will cost me a minimum of $50 plus the cost of the battery. After several emails to Sony they just gave me the run around. Sony has taken over the Konica Minolta Camera division and unfortunately really arent doing too much to help the owners out. I wont buy any Sony product now.
