You could try installing the version 5 on your pc. There could be a compatability issue so follow the information below if it will not install.

The Windows® Vista Program Compatibility Wizard can allow older programs that were not designed for use with Windows® Vista to run on Windows® Vista.

The Program Compatibility Wizard prompts you to test the program in different modes (environments) and with various settings. For example, if the program was originally designed to run on Windows® XP, set the compatibility mode to Windows® XP and try running the program again. If successful, the program will start in that mode each time. The wizard also allows the use of different settings, such as switching the display to 256 colors and the screen resolution to 640 x 480 pixels.

To run the Program Compatibility Wizard, complete the steps below:

  1. Close all programs and windows and return to the desktop.
  2. Click the Start button on the Windows® taskbar. The Start Menu will appear.
  3. Click on Control Panel. The Control Panel window will appear.
  4. Click on Programs. Additional program options will display.
  5. In the Programs and Features section click the link Use An Older Program With This Version of Windows. The Program Compatibility Wizard will launch.
  6. Click Next to Continue.
  7. Click the “I want to choose from a list of programs” radio button and click Next. A list of programs will display.
  8. Select the program that is to run in a Compatibility Mode and click Next to continue. A list of Compatibility Modes will display.
  9. Click the radio button next to the desired Compatibility Mode and click Next. A list of display settings will display.

NOTE: These display settings are not available options in Windows® Vista. They are only available when running a program in Program Compatibility Mode. The only reason to choose either of these settings is if you are experiencing difficulty installing or running an older application designed to run in Windows® 95, Windows® ME or Windows® 98. If all options remain unchecked, then the current Colors and Screen Resolution settings will not be altered.

By default, Windows® Vista uses visual themes that may change the appearance or behavior of other programs, especially those games or educational programs that include intensive graphics and animation. To prevent the visual themes from affecting these programs, check Disable Visual Themes.

  10. Choose the desired display settings and click Next to continue. Administrator privilege options will display.
  11. Choose the desired administrator privilege setting and click Next to continue. A Test Your Compatibility Settings window will display.
  12. Verify that the settings are correct. And click Next to continue.

NOTE: If the settings are not correct, click the Back button to return to the previous screen (or screens) and make the necessary changes.

  13. With the correct settings selected and showing in the "Test Your Compatibility Settings" window, click Next. The selected program will launch.
  14. Run the program to test the settings.
  15. After testing the settings, or close the program to return to the Program Compatibility Wizard.

NOTE: After the program is closed, a window with the question "Did the program work correctly?" will appear. The "Yes. Set this program to always use these compatibility settings" will be selected.

  16. If the program functioned properly using the compatibility mode that was selected above click Next. The Program Compatibility Data window will open.

NOTE: If the program did not function correctly, click "No, try different compatibility settings" and complete the Wizard. After completing the wizard, try the program again.

  17. Choose Yes or Now and click Next to continue. The Completing the Program Compatibility Wizard window will appear. Click Finish to close the window.
  18. Launch and use the program.
NOTE: If you have questions regarding the Program Compatibility Wizard or Windows® Vista (or both), contact Microsoft®, or go to http://www.microsoft.com for additional information.

Installed printshop 2.0 on windows 7 professional. When I open the program and click to start a new project, it automatically pops up not responding. The computer screen turns white and locks up.

Does the Print Shop software say specifically it is compatible with windows 7 and up? if not it will not run, XP and earlier is not compatible with Windows 7 and up as I said..

I can't install Print Shop Duluxe 22 with windows 7. What can I do to install this program?

The most important thing to keep in mind about installing Print Shop 22 on any computer is that Print Shop 22 requires that .NET Framework 1.1 be installed on the hard drive before Print Shop 22 is installed. (Print Shop cannot work with any other version of .NET Framework.) So, the first thing that the Print Shop 22 installation process will look for is whether or not .NET Framework 1.1 is installed. If .NET Framework 1.1 is not installed, it will be installed from the Print Shop 22 install disk before Print Shop 22 is installed.

32-bit version of Windows 7:

When a 'clean' install is done of Print Shop 22, exactly as described in this FAQ

'Clean' Install on Win98/Me/XP/2000/Vista/Win7

Print Shop 22 should install on a 32-bit version of Windows 7, with two incidents.

1. The "Program Compatibility Assistant" in Windows 7 will display a message which says that there are compatibility issues with Print Shop 22 on Windows 7 32-bit. To continue with the installation, select "Run Program".

2. At the end of the installation, this message will be displayed

The Amyuni Document Converter mentioned in that message is the Broderbund PDF Converter. This problem can be fixed by downloading and installing the Print Shop 22 Vista patch, which can be found here

I am looking for the Vista compatibility patch.

and which works equally well on Windows 7.

NOTE: Even though the information on that patch site says, "Note: This patch will only work for Vista 32-bit and not the Vista 64-bit operating system," I have confirmed that the patch works quite well on the 64-bit version of both Vista and Windows 7.

It should be noted, however, that when the patch fixes the problem with the Amyuni Document Converter, the Broderbund PDF Creator 3.0 will be installed - instead of the Broderbund PDF Converter, which was installed with WinXP and earlier versions of Windows. The Vista patch installs the Broderbund PDF Creator because the Broderbund PDF Converter is not compatible with either WinVista or Windows 7.

NOTE: One Windows 7 beta user has reported that his DVD drives disappeared after PS 22 was installed on Windows 7 beta 32-bit. This is a known problem with WinVista. So, it would be a very good idea to install the Vista patch BEFORE rebooting the computer.

If your DVD drives disappear after installing Print Shop 22, the only known solution is to uninstall Print Shop 22.

I am currently using both Print Shop 5.0 Premier and Print Shop 10. I am switching to a new computer with Windows 7 and will need to install Print Shop 23 Deluxe. Will I be able to retrieve all the files...

I will advice you to locate the print-shop folders that are on your computer. or simple open one of the files you created with this software and right click file location. it will open where all the other files are stored on your computer. backup everything stored on your computer to a flash drive.
Let me know if this solution helps.

I can't open sig. files on window 7 keeps saying not supported will not allow me to use the software to open either. no matter that i the print shop as default

Print Shop 20 is not completely compatible with Windows 7. For example, when I try to open a Print Shop 20 project on my Windows 7 computer, by double-clicking on the file which is displaying the Broderbund logo, I receive an error message which says, "There was a problem sending the command to the program." And, even though the Print Shop 20 file will eventually open, it actually opens in PrintMaster.

It is, however, possible to force the file to open in Print Shop 20 by doing this:

1. Open Windows Explorer, then find and right click on a Print Shop 20 *.sig file.

2. When the menu drops down, click on 'Open with...'.

3. When the 'Open with' window opens, make sure that there is a check mark in the box next to 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.

4. If Print Shop 20 is displayed in either the 'Recommended Programs' section or the 'Other Programs' section, click on Print Shop 20, then click on OK.

If Print Shop 20 is NOT displayed in either the 'Recommended Programs' section or the 'Other Programs' section, click on the 'Browse' button.

5. When the second 'Open With' window opens, navigate to this folder

C:\Program Files (x86)\The Print Shop 20\The Print Shop 20

then, click on the tps.exe file.

6. Then, click on 'Open' then click on 'OK'.

This should cause all *.sig files to automatically open in Print Shop 20 when you double-click on them. However, since file associations are always based on the file extension of the project file, it might be necessary to repeat the process above for all Print Shop 20 file extensions.

Hope this helps....

Print Shop 21 will not work on Windows 7 operating system is there a fix?

When a ‘clean’ install is done of Print Shop 22, exactly as described in this FAQ

'Clean' Install on Win98/Me/XP/2000/Vista/Win7

Print Shop 22 should install on a 64-bit version of Windows 7, with two incidents.

1. If .NET Framework 1.1 is not already installed on the computer, the "Program Compatibility Assistant” in Windows 7 will display this message
this program has know compatibility issues

To continue with the installation, select "Run Program". After .NET Framework 1.1 is installed, the necessary updates will be pulled from the Microsoft Windows Update Service.

2. After .NET Framework 1.1 is installed, the "Program Compatibility Assistant” in Windows 7 will display a message which says that there are compatibility issues with Print Shop 22 on Windows 7 64-bit. To continue with the installation of .NET Framework 1.1, select "Run Program".

NOTE: Even though the Print Shop 22 Vista patch, which can be found here

Download Vista Patch For The Print Shop 22 and PrintMaster 17 Disk Versions

can be installed on a 64-bit version of Windows 7, the patch will not fix the problem with the Amyuni Document Converter, as it does on a 32-bit version of Windows 7 (see above). So, it will not be possible to use the 'Save As PDF' option with Print Shop 22 on a 64-bit version of Windows 7. Instead, it will be necessary to install an alternate PDF driver, then Print to PDF, as is described in this FAQ

Save as PDF vs File | Print to PDF

So far, the only other known incompatibility with Print Shop 22 on a 64-bit version of Windows 7 is that Print Shop 22 cannot be run from a shortcut on the Dell Dock that is provided with many Dell computers. A Print Shop 22 shortcut can be placed on the Dell Dock; but, attempts to start Print Shop 22 from that Dell Dock shortcut will cause several incompatibility messages to be displayed
