Sometimes Microsoft will hold promotions or challenges/contests in which Microsoft points can be earned for free. They aren't too hard to find with a little bit of searching, but usually don't give many points away. Other than that, you're stuck buying them.

There is no good way to get a lot of Microsoft Points for free. However, if you sign up for Bing Rewards, you can get 100 Microsoft Points for 125 points and 400 Microsoft Points for 425 points. You can also redeem those points for other things, like free Starbucks or entering for free stuff.

For your information WGA is a microsoft way to determine whose user is not using genuine software. But if you're really annoyed by this update you can disable that manually. try searching all wga.*** remove it all. download hijjack and run find any word related to wga update and disable it. But if it's hard to eliminate try searching the net for wga remover there's plenty out there.

getting free microsoft points is stealing because you have to pay for them but you are getting a version for free and the website www.mspointsgenerator.com sends a link around but the more the link gets sent around the more the creator makes in points and plus who in their right mind would pay for someone else??? its privacy violation
