Well I've always thought that too with this model, but it threw me off when I noticed it had ddr3 8500 sticks in it. That wouldn't matter? Thanks for such a quick reply.

My hard works but me screen will not come on after installing 2 GB of ram , but the screen works when I put in the 1 GB of ram...

A) ALWAYS helps if you post the laptop manufacturer name, and model number.

Model number is on the Bottom of the laptop.

B) EACH Ram Memory slot has a MAXIMUM Amount of ram memory it will support.

If the TOTAL Maximum Amount for the laptop is 2GB, plus there are two Ram Memory slots, and the Maximum Amount for EACH ram memory slot is 1GB, what you are doing = NO.

Awaiting laptop manufacturer name, and model number.

C) Also, post what you see on the 2GB ram memory module, or info elsewhere for it.
Need to know WHO made it, and what it's specifications are.
May NOT be for YOUR laptop.

I need to buy memory for my computer its an emachines desktop model# T3410 512 MB DDR SDRAM and I dont know what to get

in DDR ram there is some models like ddr and ddr2 and another new model is DDR3. First you check what is your ram related to. for that in some pcs bios option system information the details are there. For that at the time of booting before windows logo press the button whatever is showing to enter setup. and check otherwise remove your ram and take that to a computer shop and take a new ram with same model.

And one more thing is you have to check your clock speed of your ram. Remove your ram from pc and check if any information is there on ram

Windows xp sp3 maximum amount of memory

HI,
Of course it can be done, your computer can take up to 2BG of ram (memory) and the slots are located inside the computer tower like this >>>>>
c3aec59.jpeg

Your motherboard will have 2 slots like in the picture and will take 2 x 1BG (1GB in each slot), just make sure you buy the correct speed and type memory so it's a good idea to take your memory with you when you buy is so there is no mistakes.

Good luck

How do I upgrade memory on a t1100 emachine from 256mb

Your emachines eMachines T1100 only supports modules made with a specific type of chip. Should you find what seems to be the exact same memory elsewhere for a lower price, it is very possible that the cheaper memory will not work in your computer. From what I see you should use straight PC-133 Try a site like Kahlon.com-they make sure it works with your computer as would kingston or corsair...
Your maximum amount of ram is only 256mb total.
hope this helps...good luck- please leave a rating...thank you kindly
