you can check it with other sim card ,if it remains the same problem ,it may be locked to particular network wont accept any sim card other than the particular network ,you can unlock it and used to other network,try here

The phone lock code protects your phone against unauthorized use if it is stolen and the SIM card is exchanged. To be able to switch the phone on, you need to enter the four-digit phone lock code. The Sony Ericsson default phone lock code is '0000', but you can change this to any 4-8-digit personal code. When you buy the phone, the phone lock is by default turned off.
Note: For security reasons, your operator, retailer or Sony Ericsson Contact Center cannot retrieve the lock code through the phone or the network. If you forget the code, locked phones must be sent to a service centre.

Depends where it was flashed. Take it back to the shop or if you did it yourself repeat the procedure but first take out the SIM and battery and then replace after a few minutes just in case. Also try another SIM by the same operator if the phone is locked if not any operator.
If no success, You can use Wotan website to reflash. You need to buy credits and data cable that came with the phone

my sony ericsson k510i is locked to orange but tells me invalid sim even with an orange sim card in, why?

Some of the Sony Ericson phones have a little slider that slides back over the SIM card. This slider takes a bit of force, but be careful. Hold down the SIM and slide the retainer over the edge if the SIM.

Sounds like your phone is restricted to Vodafone. Each network generally puts a lock in the software to stop other network sims being used in it. If you know your phone is unlocked (sim free) then it could be that you have not activated your Orange sim card? Check the instructions that came with your Orange sim as i am sure that you need to call Orange to activate it? Hope that helps?

To change the phone lock code:

1. From standby, go to 'Menu' > Settings > General (tab).
2. Select Security > Locks > Phone protection.
3. Select Change code and follow the instructions.

To activate the phone lock protection:

1. From standby, go to 'Menu' > Settings > General (tab).
2. Select Security > Locks > Phone protection.
3. Select Protection > On.

I have just tried it with my new locked to orange g600 and it works fine on all networks.

1-Turn on the phone without sim card .
2-Pull off the battery cover and insert any non-accepted sim card (without turning off the handset)
3-Do full reset *2767*3855# , phone will reboot and goes to Menu .
4-Customize Sp-lock code *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
5-Unlock your phone with new SP code #7465625*638*00000000#
6-Enjoy G600 unlocked
if it doesn't work after step 3.. try changing the 'non-accepted' sim card that ur putting in..
eg if you are locked to vodafone and you try this method and use an orange sim card and it doesn't work, try using a o2 sim or even virgin :)

you could try this

By doing the reset (1st temp) you will lose all your
data ie contacts, messages, photos, videos etc etc so
back them up on your pc first.
Take out your sim card and follow the instructions below :
1st temp. put this number in the keypad
*2767*3855# let it reboot(restart)
now its ready for permanent.
Put in a sim card of a network that the phone won't
except and follow the instructions below.
( If you can't type anything with a locked sim
card inserted just take it out and do the next
step without a sim card in the phone)
Don't worry if your screen shows - - - - - - - when typing
it is supposed to do this.
Permanent.
