These handles are often mounted from the back of the door. You might have to strip down the whole door to replace the old handle

The solenoid valves do gum up. Replace that and it should work fine. They are not very expensive. You could try to clean it, but it is easier to just replace it.

Check the temp of the water in the machine. It could be too low and the machine is trying to heat it and cannot. If that is the case, it is either a sensor or the heating element.

I have a Bosch SMS 4012 works fine till cycle finished. when I turn it off it trips the power safety switch at the switch board. To prevent trips happening I have to switch off at the power point and unplug .The washer is 20 years old and the problem started around 3 months ago.Is it a major problem.

Pull the bottom kick panel and check the connections on the lower right, where the electric wires come in. Trip the breaker first, to be safe.

check the filtrs in the machine are clear and the waste pipe is not blockedput it on rinse cycle and see if it empties

middle rotating washer attaches to the top washer basket and not actually to the dishwasher

double check power to your plug socket ( use bedside lamp)
check fuse in plug
check water supply ( run the water supply directly into pot/bucket)
make sure door closes properly (if built in )
if built in remove and then check!

the pump may be clogged, or the motor start capacitor may be bad or some units have a fill switch wired inline with the motor so it won't start unless the unit is full
