Universal remote PX-RC1 changed my PRIMA TV to something else?

My kids just stepped on PX-RC1 remote while my PRIMA tv was on. suddenly the screen turned to blue. Now the picture is very unclear and is not watchable. I checked the TV menu and instead of English/spanish, it has somehow changed to English and Chinese. I can switch it back to English but the problem is the screen size has changed and the picture whether from TV or from Aux inputs are not watchable.

Can someone please help!

    thanks.

I have another PRIMA TV also (for bedroom). I can use that remote for this Tv. I have two PRIMA TVs. It looks like that my TV has changed to something else. Because the original on-screen menu is now different. I can not adjust the screen size and picture and sound are not useable. I don't know if there is a way to have a master reset for the TV? I am not concerned about the remote because I can access the TV functions from the TV pushbuttons.

Suppose I buy a new remote (eventhough I have another smaller PRIMA TV). they have exactly the same remote. My next question would be, how to 'reset' the TV once I have a new remote?

    Thanks

My one is not LCD TV.It is standard CRT.

The real problem is with the picture. Look like the universal remote has changed the software to something else since the remote contains informations about other devices also. The picture is very blurred, distored and not viewable. I don't know if it has somehow converted to PAL or something else. By the way, the PRIMA TV is Q2716SS (it says this on the owner's manual0, color system - TV: NTSC-M, AV=NTSC3.58/4.43, PAL 4.43

I couldn't find the remote procedure for Prima in Internet.
It is contained in the service manual, which is not available for free. Here is the service manual for sale
Before try to do an hard reset, unplugging tv from power outlet for ten minutes and plugging back. See what happens.

    Finally

Here is customer service website. They have all owner manuals, but there is no reset procedure in there

If the picture is blurred and anviewable then it is not a matter of settings. If it is just matter of settings then get the service manual
and perform a factory reset. If not you may need to take your tv to a service.
Let me know how it goes.

    Regards

Go to Display Profiles | Advanced Timing Options | Custom Resolutions | on the left side scroll down to 1280x720p (LCD) and highlight it, then click Add new resolution on the right ... that should do it ... you probably will have to confirm the resolution with OK or something. ... save the setting after you go back two screens ...

Hi,

i think the TV remote has nothing to do with the changing of settings in TV.

the problem goes like this.
when the remote was crushed it got some buttons pressed in it and now needs a medicine called "reset"

and this can be done by buying a new remote only.

now sir you first buy a new remote for the TV and then go for the resetting process.

this will fix you surely sir.

thank you

good luck

Sounds like you need a new remote. that circuit board is not too happy when it's crushed in like that. You might be able to make it work, but don't count on it.

REMOTE PX-RC1 CANNOT GET CODES FOR A PHILLIPS DVD PLAYER

SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
If your device does not respond to the remote after
trying all codes listed for your brand, or if your
brand is not listed, try searching for your code. For
example, to search for a code for your TV:
1. Press TV once.
2. Press and hold P until the red LED blinks
twice, then release.
3. Enter 9 9 1. The LED blinks twice.
4. Aim the remote at the TV and press Power.
The remote sends IR codes from its library to
the selected device, starting with the most
popular code first.
5. If the TV responds, go to step 6. If the TV
does not respond, press CH+. The remote will
try the next code. Continue until the TV
responds.
NOTE: Press CH- to try the previous code.
6. To lock in the code, press P once. The LED
blinks twice.
7. To search for other device codes, repeat steps
1 to 6, substituting the appropriate device
key.
