It is new, take it back and replace it. Might want to try a hard reset or reinstall the software before lugging it back.

Sounds like your Printer Driver has been corrupted. If so install another one. Also check to see whether the printer will print a TEST PAGE. If not, is there Ink in the cartridge? You'll be surprised! Good Luck. George

Well the head is bad or the contacts need cleaned ,The head is what jets the ink out of the cartridge so it is either bad or not making good contact with the cartidge. Clean contacts with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip and hope its the contacts cause those heads are expensive.

I took the printer to office depot where they looked at it and said it was an obsolete model that would ccost more to fix tthaan the original printer. They offered me a new hp6500 at a sale price of $99.00 and a tradee in of $50.00 on my 3820 which I promptly grabbed up.

I had the same problem with this printer Office jet6500 Wireless. HP advised me to install a new print driver Deskjet990c and use it as default printer for Quickbooks. you need to ID the port of the HP6500 and use the same port for the 990c (nb i am using it with usb on my PC)
HP tech support emailed me step by tep instructions

Uninstall ALL the old software first, reboot your PC, then reinstall software.
