Try performing a 'Master reset' to restore your phone settings back to default.
Select 'Menu' > then select 'Settings' > then select the 'General' tab > then select 'Master reset'.
You will then be asked to choose between 'Reset settings' or 'Reset all'.
'Reset settings' will restore your phone settings but will keep all of your personal data. 'Reset all' will DELETE all of your personal data and restore phone settings.
Try just 'Reset settings' first then try to send a message to yourself, this will test if your phone is able to send and receive messages. If messaging still won't work, try 'Reset all' then try to send another message.
If it still won't send or receive messages, I recommend you give call Sony Ericsson Customer Service a call, their worldwide phone number list can be found at:
obviously...
If once restored your handset using "MASTER RESET" your handset memory will be cleared and you won't get them back. Previously if you have created back up then you can restore data from the back up Thank youDon't Forget To Rate
