I do not think it is possible. This free online manual shows on about page 25 how to delete and says you must confirm it though, so hopefully, you did not confirm it.

Listen to, Save & Delete Messages
The system automatically saves your messages until you delete them, and can store approximately 15
minutes of messages, memos, and announcements (up to a maximum of 99 messages). A message
or memo can be up to four minutes long.
The message window will ?ash to alert you to new, unplayed messages. If all messages have been
reviewed, the number displayed in the window will glow steadily. If the system contains both old and
new messages, it will play only the new messages ?rst. After all new messages are played, press the
PLAY/STOP to hear all messages

This website listed above shows the manuals for the vtech phones. Find your model number on your phone and retrieve the manual from the site. On the part of recovering your deleted messages on your vtech phone, you can't recover them from the device itself. If you have Vonage, Comcast, AT&T or Verizon, which all have VoiceMail systems. They can recover your deleted messages. I hope something turns out for the good on this vtech problem.

Set up the answering machine that came with your Vtech 5.8phone. To activate your voice mail, press the "Answer on/off" buttonat the base of the main cordless phone. Hello! The answering machine will automatically save messages if you do not delete them; Even in the event of a power failure. It can hold 15 minutes of messages. After 15 minutes machine will "wrap" writing over the oldest message. An old message (listened to) can be deleted by holding erase for more than two seconds. Pressing Mailbox X (1-3) will delete all Old Messages in that box. Once deleted they are gone forever...

Unfortunately, once a message has been deleted, there is no way to get it back.

Deleting Messages
1 Connect with the answering
system.
2 To delete selected message — Press
and release 3 while the message is
playing.
To delete all messages in a
mailbox — After you have listened to
all messages and heard the two beeps,
press 3, and then the mailbox
number.
