That depends on where the leak is. If it is leaking out of the fuel sump the needle valve in the sump could be stuck or just leaking by so that the sump is over flowing. You could also make sure the fuel line fittings are tight where it connects to the pump and the burner chamber. If you are using an internal tank you should take the tank out and look down in the heater for kerosene. Check the fuel fittings in the back of the heater. Has the heater been working? If has gone through several attempts to start but hasn't lit kerosene could be built up in the burner and you should check the igniter. Also you would want to dry up any excess kerosene in of the burner. There are also some o-rings in the fuel pump itself but I wouldn't think they would be leaking. Basically there are not a lot of places it could be leaking just follow the fuel line from the back of the heater to the burner. You may need to wipe up the kerosene and then look for a drip. Hope this helps.

P0455 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (Gross Leak/No Flow) Description: The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the complete evaporative emission (EVAP) control system for no purge flow, the presence of a large fuel vapor leak, or multiple small fuel vapor leaks. System failure occurs when no purge flow, which is attributed to fuel vapor blockages or restrictions, a large fuel vapor leak, or multiple fuel vapor leaks are detected by the EVAP running loss monitor test with the engine running, but not at idle. Possible Causes:
  • After market EVAP hardware that does not conform to the required specifications
  • Disconnected or cracked fuel EVAP canister tube, EVAP canister purge outlet tube, or EVAP return tube

E-14 code mpi monitor 2400

It sounds like you have a fuel problem, check to see if there is some kind of blockage in the line or at the tank value.

E13 for a 2200 Monitor heater

E-13 - No ignition. Water in fuel line, no fuel in sump, blocked pumpand/or sump filter. the pump doesn't know water from kerosene it will pumpthis. Water doesn't burn so it will knock out the flame and lock out theheater. You can add a quart of denatured alcohol to 150 gallons of kerosene.the alcohol will emulsify the water enabling it to burn.
THERE'S A RED BUTTON THAT RESETS THE FLOAT. press this down. All it does isrelease the float. There's a sheet metal tab on the float and a magnet on thebottom of the button

My monitor 41 smells like kerosene when it sits idle, repair man came out and told me he fixed it, but it still smells

Does it smell like raw kerosene or exhaust. If it smells like kerosene it sounds like you may have a fuel leak. If you can remove the grill, look inside and check for any kerosene in the bottom and in the tray under the heater. You should also check your fuel line for leaks. If it smells like exhaust look inside and on back of the heater for any black soot marks. There are a couple of o-rings, 1 in the exhaust connection in back of the heater and 1 in the flue pipe where the exhaust from the heater connects. There's also several gaskets in the combustion chamber that could be leaking. Hope this helps. If you need any more info, you can send me an email ([email protected]).

Monitor 2200 heater

Hi Edward - I have the same heater and it just did the same as yours. The booklet doesn't list what the codes mean (how dumb is that?) but in the troubleshooting section it does list the problem (heater extinguishes after lighting) and a solution that worked in my case. First of all, I went outside to where it vents and cleaned out a big bubble of soot. (The book says to gently clean with a brush). Then, on the right side of the heater there is an inset button - "Press fuel set lever on lower right hand side of the cabinet and release slowly 2 or 3 times".

Your problem is either air pocket in fuel line or empty fuel tank. OR there is an obstruction of combustion air intake system or combustion fan failure (which I'm assuming was solved when I cleaned the soot out of the outside vent).

Hope this helps, if you haven't gotten if fixed yet.

I have a monitor 2200 that is reading ee 13. what does that mean?

EE13 on a Monitor is one thing. The same code on a Toyostove is completely different. A Monitor EE13 means there was no flame at ignition. On a toyostove EE13 is the burner thermistor.

On the Monitor I would check my fuel tank. On the Toyo you may have to have the dealer help you, as it could be something easy like a very cold day or more complicated as a main circuit board.
