Pushing Start Button only results in "Beep, beep, beep"

I've been washing clothes all morning and had no problems. I went to start the next load and even though the correct settings are lit up, when I push the start button, it only beeps at me. If I try to push the "off" button, the same thing happens. The only way to shut off the washer is to unplug it.

Same thing, used all morning, then when to start the next load and all buttons just beep. No error code. Door appears to be shut well. Unplugged for 5 minutes and responded for about 10 seconds, then it just started beeping and won't actually acknowledge the changes.

Actually, what appears to have happened is that somehow the door locked while it was open. I've ordered the door latch mechanism and the repairman is coming as soon as the part arrives. Good thing too. The seal around the inside of the drum was torn in places and leaking water. We've ordered that too. Thanks for all your suggestions. By the way - there was no error code at all. Hopefully this will all help someone else.

There is no error code at all. After doing some more looking (and cursing) at the washer - it appears that the door lock mechanism is actually locked without the door actually being shut. I hadn't noticed that the door wasn't shut completely when I originally posted this question. After noticing that the door wasn't flush with the front of the washer I looked at the door lock mechanism and it appears that at some point it locked while the door was open.

Actually deselected and reselected the max extract and extra rinse buttons and it started working. Go Figure, we'll see how long that lasts.

Need to check that the lid is shut properly and the door is locking. You don't mention an error code in the display. Make sure there isn't one showing.

Fisher & Paykel GWL11 will not complete full cycle, and beeps with wet clothes and water in the tub. The drain pump runs, but drains water very slowly.

This machine will beep and stop washing when the load is out of balance. Have you tried removing the clothes and lying them in again (carefully) and pressing the START/PAUSE button to complete the wash?

Ge adora washing machine beeps when pushing start with door closed

Hit the power button until there is NO display . Unplug and wait a minimum of 30 seconds , plug back in and within 30 seconds hit SIGNAL button then DELAY START button then SIGNAL button again then DELAY START button again. door should lock and display t01 It is now in test mode . There are 14 different test it can run through in this mode , but all we are trying to do is check for error codes now and maybe get you back to normal, So turn the knob one click clockwise and hit the START/PAUSE button and see if any error codes come up. To exit the diagnostic mode - hit signal button then delay start button then signal button then delay start button and you are out of service test mode and back to normal. Post any error codes.

Wahing machine

Try pushing the skip button this may reset the prog. These machines will beep to indicate a fault. Dependant on how many times the machine beeps b4 it pauses ie 1 beep then a pause would indicate the machine isn't filling, 2 beeps its not pumping out, 4 beeps doors open. Hope this helps

The wash beeps all the time

To stop the flashing and beeping, the customer may touch the Pause Cancel button. The error code remains stored in the control but once the problem is corrected, it does not effect the operation of the washer. If the failure is something that the customer can correct (such as the water faucets being turned off), the washer will operate normally the next time it is started.

Maytag washer

It helps trying to actually weigh your dirty linen. Try to wash within what is mentioned in your manual. Also see that the door is closed firmly. Would be useful if you'd post back results.....
