Samsung v20 laptop shuts down every time after 8 minutes

Any sound? Does the HDD led blink during start-up? Can you hook it up to a external display? If so, what is on the screen?

ok i have a couple questions so i can help you.1. is the laptop fully charged? 2.what are you doing when it shuts down?

just plug in the electric cord from computer to plug switch on and away you go
just the same as if you were on battery power
only the electric wont run out on you

If it is because it was not correctly closed down, software wise, then boot the system in Safe Mode and then when it has loaded, close it down. Windows will be able to repair the corrupted files.
If you placed something heavy on it, new/replacement screens are available and I would start by looking at ebay first.

you can try pressing fn+f10 to switch on and switch off wireless

You pc has a hidden recovery partition. You need to press F11 at boot up to launch recovery. But before you do make sure to back up all your data. the recovery wizzard will walk you though the whole process.

sounds like your new screen cable is either loose or faulty.i had same problem and was only after i had removed keyboard and ensured cable was tightly connected did i solve the problem.it seems to be a design fault in the samsung v20

I have a Samsung V20 for many years and I know it doesn't support a wireless connection built in. But if you connect a USB like myself you can have access to the internet wirelessly. The flikering on the screen are you sure you haven't got a screen saver switched on, you may have it set to a clear black screen and like you say have to tap the keyboard and it comes back to life. It may also have hibernation switched on which will automatically turn off the screen have so many minutes you can change all these setting by right clicking on the desktop and selecting properties and under the screen saver tab there will be a power btton you should see hibernation and other tabs across the top these can be altered to whatever you want.
