Windows XP SP3 platform with single Delta 66. Record audio works fine but I'm unable to hear played back audio through computer. It appears onboard audio card disabled. Any suggestions?

  • Anonymous Mar 30, 2010

Thanks, The problem appears to be when I install the Delta 66 it corrupts the SoundMax software. re-installing SoundMax will not work because it gives a no HDA driver found. The only remedy I found was to remove the Delta 66 and reinsatll the chipset and the audio drivers. This will return th efunction of the onboard sound card but as soon as a re-install the Delta 66, I'm back to the same old problem.

Would an alternative solution be to install a pnp Sound Card compatible with Delta 66?

Go to Device Manager and enable the audio card.
If you cannot enable the audio card or it is not working then install the audio driver again.

Yes you can try, It may work.

There is a conflict between SoundMax and Delta 66.

I suggest you contact the Delta 66 company and explain the problem, they may have a fix.

Emachines T3116 with no audio

It is entirely possible that the onboard audio died on the mainboard. They fail quite often. However, in order to use an aftermarket card in place of the onboard audio, you will need to go into the CMOS setup and disable the onboard audio to allow the SoundBlaster audio to do its thing.

I installed this on a Windows 7 64 bit system. After disabling the onboard audio everything worked fine. 2 Days later I started up my system and everything still worked fine, then I did a Windows update...

Was your machine working fine? If so, WHY did you do an update? Updates are never a guarantee and fraught with many issues - U only update when there is a valid reason and it is absolutely necessary - then you cross your fingers and risk it!

U have learned the hard way and now all you can do is attempt to undue what you did. U can try a system repair of your OS since the system restore did not do the trick. And if the repair does not work, and you do not have a backup of your drive, you will have to wipe the drive and reload everything. Have fun and good luck!

Hi...can i ask question??what problem is it...i can't play my nba live 06 when i stall on my computer only black screen appear...because my brother want to play this game but he can't play...pls help me...

The probelm is probably your video card. To be able to play 3d games on a computer, it must be equipped with an external video card. According to your description you probably have an "onboard video solution" which is fine for normal use, web browsing pictures etc. But it does not have the required capacity to run 3d applications. My recommentdation to you; get all the information you can about this, the computer hardware industry specifically Video cards can be somewhat overwhelming to a beginner. Basically there are 2 types of Vcards, AGP and PCIE,. You need to find out which kind supports your computer, or else wont fit. Furthermore, you need to be comfortable with installing and uninstalling drivers and be prepared to rescue or even reinstall your operative system(windows) In case things go wrong. All this can be very difficult at first but once you get into it it keeps getting easier and is very rewarding. If you are not willing, or interested at all in any of this you should be beter off buying a gaming console, they are cheaper, easier, and will offer to you an overall better experience.

Speakers not working right

First check the easy stuff, wires, plugs green socket...now go to your control panel and double click on sound, down at the bottom you see speaker settings, speaker volume and advanced.
check your speaker volume hear- then click on advance-speaker tab- drop down box -select your set up- (2.1 = two speakers and a sub woofer). And make sure it is correct...then the performance tab- both slides all the way right.
Now if that is all good- uninstall your sound drivers and go to realtek and download the latest drivers for your sound card/or onboard.
If you need help to locate the drivers please provide card number- computer name and model- or the motherboard make and number.
You are using Windows XP-correct?
I hope this helps, please leave a rating.
