I recently purchased a dictaphone to catch out a friend i know who was lying, as i spoke to this person on my mobile phone i held the dictaphone up to the mobile phone so i could record the conversation. However when i played it back there is a lot of interference, ya know the very annoying sound when you hold a mobile near a radio so i can barely hear what is being said when i play the tape back. This is hugely important to me and i am desperate to get this information. Is there any way of cutting out this interference on the tape? like maybe transferrring it to a cd.are there any experts i can go to? money is not a problem.

The sensor that detects the tape movement is bad and will need to be replaced.

Unfortunately, units made in foreign countries don't have much of a user manual - ESPECIALLY in english.
There is no support website for Mikomi - and - unfortunately it will be up to you to "translate" the english to english :D.
Thanks for using FixYa - a FixYa rating is appreciated!!
SOURCE: Dictaphone Expresswriter 2740 Tape Won't Move
The problem is with the capstan motor. More than likely it has developed a 'flat spot' and won't spin up. The clicking noise you hear is the solenoids trying to pull the heads into place, but because the motor isn't turning, it can't pull the heads into place.
SOURCE: Eject the tape from a Dictaphone 1243 voice recorder
The top cover slides down, and then the cassette should easily lift out.
