Try another lens. Make sure the camera is set to AF.
R13 is not an error message - the camera is telling you how many images you can take before the camera has to stop and write to the memory card. Please consult your users manual for further information
When you launched the FinePix Viewer, go to "Settings", and then move your cursor down to "Way of Saving", tick the "Make Folder" by "Date", and then click "Browse" to identify the drive partition/folder to save your photos. After that, click the icon with the symbol of the "camera to folder" on your top right corner, to upload your photos to your computer.
Have you formatted the memory card? This is required for a new card or a card used from another camera before use. It is also good practice to format the card every time you use it. This is done from the setup menu.

You have to take the sd card out and load in in an sd card reader. Then just write it into the video or to the DCIM folder if a picture. You cannot load through the Nikon interface.
I think you may have deleted the folders from your memory card. The camera could be looking for the folder to put the photo into, and this error comes up instead of one about the folder.
Does the camera have internal memory? The folder name might not match the folder you or the camera are looking for. REmove mem card and see if the pics are still on the camera, if so, then try again without the card in. try and see the card in "mass media storage" mode on your PC. Reformat the card in the camera after you get the pics off to reset the folder name.
