Bosch SHX45M05UC/48 I'm trying to install my dishwasher....but, the hose attached to the right side of the dishwasher looks like it should be connecting, at the other end, to another place within the dishwasher. I can't figure out where it connects and I'm sure I shouldn't have two drainage hoses. Help. mm

Under the dishwasher you should she a hose barb by the drain pump assembly. One end of the drain hose hooks to the pump and the other to your drainage system.

Don't. Just attach your hose and the end of the Bosch hose together. Just wind up the Bosch hose and tape it to the back of the machine.

SOURCE: Bosch SHU3306UC dishwasher is slowly filling with

Hi,
If water continues to enter the dishwasher when the power is off at the breaker, you most likely need to replace the water inlet valve/solenoid assembly. The valve is not closing fully allowing water to seep into the washer when not in use. Water should not enter the dishwasher via the drain hose as there is a non-return valve to prevent this happening.
If you have a check valve for the water supply to the dishwasher, close the check valve. If the washer does not fill with water with this valve closed, you definitely need to replace the inlet valve. The inlet valve/solenoid is located behind the toe-kick below the door and is relatively easy to replace yourself. The only tools required are a Torx T20 screwdriver (for removing the toe-kick and the valve) and a pair of pliers.
If you are confident that you can undertake this repair yourself and have the tools, please let me know and I will provide part/supplier details and fitting instructions. If you would prefer to call a professional, the part costs about $30-35 and you should not be charged more than an hour for labor.
Hope this helps. You can reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question.

My Bosch works very well. But when you idol it for several days, there will be a lot of water, if you don't clean up,soon or late got overflowed

Hi,

If the dishwasher is filling to overflow level when not in use, you need to replace the water inlet valve/solenoid assembly. The valve is not closing fully allowing water to seep into the washer.

If you have a check valve for the water supply to the dishwasher, I'd suggest closing the check valve while the washer is not in use until the inlet valve has been replaced. If you don't have a check valve, if you leave the power switched on, the washer will automatically pump out when it reaches overflow level. The anti-flood protection system will stop the dishwasher overflowing as long as the power is on. Closing the check valve is by far the best option!

The inlet valve/solenoid is located behind the toe-kick below the door and is relatively easy to replace yourself. The only tools required are a Torx T20 screwdriver for removing the toe-kick and the valve.

If you are confident that you can undertake this repair yourself and have the tools, I've listed the part/supplier details and fitting instructions below. If you would prefer to call a service technician, make sure you aren't charged more than $30-35 and no more than an hour for labor.

Please note: This part relates to the Bosch SHX45M05UC/xx. If you do not have this model, verify the correct part number for your model before ordering.

Part number: 607335
Description: Water inlet valve (sometimes called water inlet or valve access)

This part is used on all versions of SHX45M05UC/xx, so it doesn't matter if the 'xx' on your model is 01, 02, 06, 12, etc.

(APP use their own part numbering. This part is listed as AP4070550)

Fitting instructions:
1. Switch off the power at the breaker and close the water supply check valve
2. Clear as much water from the sump as possible - a turkey baster works well for this
3. Remove the two Torx T20 screws from the toe-kick then tilt the toe kick out to remove it
4. Remove the base insulation (if fitted)
5. Disconnect the water supply line from the inlet valve
6. Make sure the sump inlet hose is clear of the inlet valve
7. Disconnect the wires from the water valve - make note of where to re-attach first!
8. Remove the two Torx T20 screws from the inlet valve
9. Pull out the inlet valve and disconnect the hose

A small amount of water will drain from the hose when you disconnect it (assuming you drained the sump first) so have something ready to catch the water if possible.

That's it. Refitting is the exact reverse of the above. This is a relatively simple repair, but it's a good idea to take digital photos as you go along so you can refer back to them when re-fitting parts.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions or need assistance should you decide to replace the valve yourself, please let me know.

There are two hoses coming from my Bosch SHE45M06UC dishwasher. One is obviously the drain coming from the back of the unit, and the other is attached to the side looped and not connected to anything. I...

Many people realize the dishwasher connects to a little hose on the sink, it is called an air gap. However, many people wonder " The air gap is there to prevent the water from being siphoned out of the dishwasher. When water flows through the drain hose, it creates a suction on the water still in the dishwasher. The air gap, makes a hole for air to get in. That way, the water only leaves the dishwasher when it supposed to, when it is pumped out. Another benefit of an air gap is that if the drain hose becomes clogged, the dishwasher can still pump out the water. Instead of flowing through the hose, as it should, it can flow out the air gap and into the sink.
The dishwasher's drain line usually connects to an air gap mounted at the countertop level on the sink. The drain line continues from the air gap to either the garbage disposer or directly to the sink drain. If the drainage hose between the air gap and the drain is partially or completely blocked, wat

We're trying to install our dishwasher and there is a 3rd hose attached on the side. It appears to be a drain of some kind, part number, we think, printed on it is FRU 10967 19/07/04 08:33 Can you tell...

I just installed my Bosch dishwasher a few days ago and wondered about the same thing. The instructions for hooking up water supply and drain lines did not mention this third hose at all.
However, 'the third hose' (which appears open on the lower end, but loops up high) is attached at the other end at a point directly on the other side of the dryer wall from an opening inside the dishwasher, described elsewhere as a vent (somewhere in the manual we are advised not to place anything such that the vent could be blocked). I'm assuming that when water is pumped to the drain, since the chamber is otherwise sealed, there has to be an opening for it to breathe in air to replace the evacuated water, and conversely to allow air to leave when new water is taken in; thus both vacuum and pressure build-up are avoided.
So, although this third hose is not involved in installation, a little foresight by the manual writers would have had them mention it and put our minds at ease. Maybe we are not supposed to be curious....

Securing Bosch SHU 4300 under "hard" countertops

If this is a new Bosch Dishwasher then there should be two metal tabs that protrude from the top of the tub above the door. These tabs are for top mounting the dishwasher to a wood countertop, however these tabs also can be relocated to side mount the dishwasher to the cabinetry. The way to do this is to pull the dishwasher out of the hole it is in, in the counter (be careful not to pull too hard or to move the machine out too far due to the length of the water and electric lines). just pull it out easy till you can see the tabs, Now using a pair of pliers, bend the tabs on the backside of the mounts straight so you can remove them from the framing of the dishwasher. Next look at the tabs there should be a perforation where you can use 2 pairs of pliers to snap the tabs off at the perforation, after snapping off these tabs, look at the sides of the dishwasher and you will see a slot where you can reattach the tabs into, and bend the tabs in the back to hold them in place. If you look at the rubber gasket material on both sides of the machine - you can see where the round holes are located for side mounting. Attach the tabs and gently push the machine back into the cabinetry. Now using a small drill bit, drill a pilot hole into both sides of the cabinets to mount the dishwasher. You want to drill these pilot holes so as not to split the counter facing when you drill in the screws. Using the Bosch screws that came with the dishwasher (or small flat phillips screws) slowly screw in the screws into the sides of the cabinetry. When you attempt to remove the machine from the cabinetry you may find that it is adjusted tight to the countertop. If this is the case you will need to remove the 2 screws that hold the kickplate in at the bottom of the dishwasher in the front and remove the kickplate. Then you will need to bring up the front legs on both the left and the right and also the rear leg which is adjusted up and down by using a flat blade screwdriver. Look at the front of the dishwasher, behind the kickplate and there will be a adjusting screw with arrows which point left to right. the direction you turn this screw will determine which way the dishwasher will adjust,- right adjusts the machine higher and left lower. Good luck!!!!!! Hope this helps.

Installation

It sounds like you have connected your dishwasher to a garbage disposal.

  1. The 2 hoses provided with your dishwasher connect together.
  2. You run the drain hose through a hole in the bottom/back of your cabinet, then up to the top of the cabinet, then connect it to the drain on the garbage disposal. (The reason that you run your drain up to the top of the cabinet is: This is called an air gap, and helps keep a little water in the drain line, which will prevent sewer gases from entering your dishwasher.)
  3. Be sure to knock the plug out of the drain of the garbage disposal. A garbage disposal is designed to work with or without a dishwasher. The plug is in the center of the drain. The best way to knock this plug out is to pull the garbage disposal, and with a flat screwdriver, knock the plug out.
  4. Then remove the plug from the disposal. Reinstall the disposal.
  5. Install the drain hose. The drain hose will connect right up to the disposal using the clamp provided with the dishwasher.
This should help you. If not please attach more info.
