Sony VPL-CS1 projector

Projector does not come on.
Lamp/cover and Fan/temp leds come on when on button is pressed.

    Dear Marrie,

    There is no visible damage to the lamp.Need help in checking the ballast. Test points and voltage levels.
    I do not have the circuit diagram

    Iam have the same thing happening the blub is good but when i plug in the power cable the 2 lights start blinking and projector never turns on.

    I am also experiencing this issue and would like to test in-houseto see if this can be repaired. I have two non-functioning and would like to combine working parts so at minimum I can get the remaining lamps in stock used up and get our full money's worth out of these portables.

    If there is a circuit diagram available that would be great.

Hi there

You should first check if there is any visible damage on your lamp. If not then it could be a faulty Ballast ( lamp powersupply )

Both the LAMP/COVER and FAN/TEMP indicator lights come on, not blinking
with both lights solid. according to the manual all it says is (there is an electrical failure inside the unit, please take to an authorized servicer). if you are able to do this yourself you will need the schematics and a voltmeter to start testing your voltages. your lamp is fine so dont waste your money replacing that anymore. if you would like the service manual send me an email to [email protected].

What could be the issue if my projector turns itself off after only running for 1-2 minutes?
It maybe a problem with your lamp as they can run for a short while then shut down.
When it shuts down do you get the lamp or temp indicator coming on?

My Sony VPL CS1 projector was working on Monday and is not working on Wednesday. Smells hot but fan is running. Light was on but now it is not on and the Lamp/Cover light is on.

check the lamp cover is it open or not. there is switch for sensing, is the lamp cover is open or not. may be it became faulty. also check the lamp is it burned or not . if found burned replace it.

your projectors lamp cover may be open. or there is some thing happened (may be contact problem) with the lamp cover open sensing switch. just open the door and close it. and then try again.
