Frigidaire Ice Maker not working

On the back section inside the cardboard cover there is a dual solenoid operated valve that when energized by buttons on the front of the refrigerator either dispense water, (which appears to work by your descrition) and the other opens to fill ice maker tray. It sounds like the ice tray side is not enerzing or does not work. If you take your model number and go to Searspartsdirect.com you can order the replacement valve and get the system back in operation.
Before I trash a potentially good working dual valve, make sure someone has not turned the on/off switch on the ice maker and/or the bin full bail (if it has one) is in down position. The bin full bail looks shiny metallic and rotates down to the automatic position. When a batch of ice harvests, they puch up against this bail and will halt production when the bin gets full. Once lowered because of ice usages, the bail lowers again to start another batch of ice.

Just because you get water from the dispenser does not mean you should also get ice made in the ice maker. Fact is there are two side to the water control valve. One for the ice maker and the other for the water dispenser. Is there ice remaining inside the ice maker slots? If not then pour water into the tray until full and if after the water freezes it drops the ice into the ice bin this will indicate a defective=> WR57X10032 Water Inlet Valve If nothing happens and the ice maker tray are full of ice this will indicate a defective=> WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly The ice maker is cannot be rebuilt on this model. Kenmore model numbers look like this example=> 321.1234578 Are you sure that the water in the ice maker is melting and flowing down into the ice bin? What may be happening is the water control valve for the ice maker may be allowing water to continue flowing into the ice maker tray even when off due to the water control valve being defective. If your refrigerator also has a water dispenser and the water is not continuing to leak is because the water control valve has to sides. Hello Jim czyryca - From what you are describing if the ice maker is not making ice but is dispensing water, sounds like the refrigerator has a frozen water line, faulty ice maker valve or bad component that sends power to the ice maker valve when needed. The ice maker cycles internally to call for water so I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately to assist with the repairs.

I'm looking to see if yousr is electronic and the part number for the ice maker and dual water control valve. I would like you to fill the ice maker tray with tap water and let freeze. If it dumps after freezing then the water control valve is the problem. If the ice just sits in the ice maker then the problem is the ice maker. BRB, Sea Breeze

If the water enters as if it were on a timed basis it would be clear that your ice maker either needs rebuilt or replaced. All signals are sent to the water control valve from the ice maker. The ice maker if working properly will begin its cycle when the thermostat tells the icemaker to begin by heating the elements below the ice maker to warm slightly to loosen the ice from their ice slots. After that any confusion would be in the front of the ice maker to tell the water to come on before the ice maker emptys its ice and begins a 7 second refill of water.
