I need to install my inverter 18 feet from my battery

I'm converting a 32 ft. uhaul truck into a camper. I want to install my 3000 watt inverter to run the Frig. while I'm on the road. I want to install the unit about 18 ft. from the battery, what size cable would I need from the battery to the inverter.

A very thick one,,,like a baby battery lead on your car,,,its a very bad idear to have it so far away from the battery point, you would be far better off finding a closer place to put it as the volts drop off would have a big drop in out put on the inverter,,,also thats one big mother of a fridge to use 3000 watts????
you need a small power station to run it,,and if it do use 3000 watts your inverter is far to small to do the job, read the out put plate on the inverter,,it says 3000 watts max? not all the time,,,,thats about 2000 watts realy running contently and the whire to feed the inverter will need to carry about 30 amps so your car battery is say 90 amp hours plus the volts drop off, you would be lucky to have the inverter running for 3-4 hours before your battery go's is very flat on you!

We need to convert everything to a common unit, so let's convert the 18 inches into 1.5 feet.
Volume is length times width times height.
v= 132 x 2 x 1.5
v= 396 cubic feet
To convert to cubic yards, imagine a yard cube. It is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet for a total of 27 cubic feet.
v1 = 396 cubic feet/27 cubic feet per yard
v1 = 14 2/3 cubic yards

So 15 cubic yards should do it.

You can combine all the feet together 10+5+11=26 feet
Combine all the inches together -3-4-11=-18 inches=-2 ft + 6 inches
26 ft -2ft +6 inches =24 ft +6 in=24.5 ft
You can also multiply each inch -value by 1/12
10-3/12+5-4/12+11-11/12=10+5+11 -(3+4+11)/12=26-18/12, continue

What are you trying to power with the inverter? Do you know how many watts your appliance need to run? Your 1000 watt inverter needs 83 amps from your battery to drive a 1000 Watt appliance. The minimum size wire you need to hook up the battery to the inverter is a size 6 as short as possible but no more than 25 ft.

What is it exactly that you want to accomplish? It looks like this unit is powered by the electrical system of your truck, but if it indeed can provide 2500 Watts of output power, its input demand from your truck electrical system will be in excess of 200 Amps!!! You'll need some pretty hefty wiring to support that type of demand, and I doubt if your alternator can put out that amount of current.
Are you sure you want/need to do this - and run it off your truck electrical system?
