The scanner cover is called the lid. The cartridge access door is just below the front edge of the scanner. It doesn't run the whole length of the scanner (just to the right of the front (control) panel). It's above the output paper tray. When this door is open you can insert or remove the cartridges, so check if those are visible. If the door has broken off, it will need to be replaced and you should contact HP. (The door pivots on pins at the bottom and if they are broken it's difficult to fix.)

I hope this helps.

Error says "close print cartridge access door" but there isn't a cartridge door from what I can see

there is a cover where you put the ink then close it if that is closed you may have knocked the lever for the sensor to let the printer know the cover is closed and that would be why but if the lever is in place and the printer is old it might be time for a new printer. The only other thing that could cause a problem would be a problem with the cartridge if it's empty or if the cart is new it could be defective.

It shows "remove any obstruction

Open the printer cover and access the cartridge area. Remove both cartridges. While the cover is open, check for any obstructions in the cartridge carrier's path. Check for any loose transparent strip (encoder strip). If cartridge area clear from these, Close the cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, open the printer cover and reinsert the cartridges. Close the cover and try to print again.

I wish to replace the black toner cartridge in the Dell 3010cn. How do I gain access to it. There is easy access to the cyan cartridge at the moment

if you want to replace black one only you should follow these steps Install or replace the toner cartridge while the printer is on (if the power is not on, the cartridge carrier does not rotate).

1. After confirming the Insert Yellow Toner(Y) message, open the front door.

2. Hold the tape on the protective cover and pull it forward to remove the cover from each cartridge slot.

NOTE: You need to remove the protective cover only the first time that you install the toner.
NOTE: Dispose of the protective cover after you remove it.
NOTE: The protective cover is attached to each toner cartridge mount.

3. Make sure the color of the toner cartridge matches the slot on the toner cartridge carrier. The order is Y, M, C, K. Gently shake the cartridge to distribute the toner evenly.

4. Lift the tab up 90 degrees and pull the toner seal straight off, keeping it parallel with the toner cartridge.

5. To insert the toner cartridges, align the arrows on the cartridge with the corresponding arrows on the printer. Guide the cartridge in until it snaps into place and then push down the handhold to lock the cartridge in place.

6. Close the front door.

NOTE: Make sure the toner cartridge is installed correctly. Otherwise, the front door cannot close firmly.

7. The toner cartridge carrier rotates to the next empty slot. When the color of the newly inserted cartridge appears on the display, followed by the Insert message, insert the next toner cartridge.

8. Repeat steps 1 through 7 when inserting the remaining cartridges.

plz do rate the solution if got help

Door open , close print cartridge access door

I have an HP Officejet 6210 All-in-One. When you open the print cartridge access door there is a black toggle switch that needs to be in the depressed position to let the unit know the door is closed. Something was missing from the topside of the "door" so the switch didn't close. I simply stuffed in some foam material to close this, and the unit operates normally. You will need to remove this when changing cartridges, then replace it again.0a64d2c.jpg
