SUDS error code

I just started getting the SUDS error code today.  The manual says it will drain on its own automatically but it ran for over 2 hours with the code, so I just had it do spin only since there are no suds at all in the washer.  Each time I try to wash again, this code comes up halfway through the load.  I use less than the recommended amount of HE detergent, so I know there is no backup from non HE use.  Any ideas of what I can do?

Nope, did not work at all.  Had someone from maytag come out and they unplugged it and plugged it back in and suggested I do a few loads with cold water and salt.  all it does is run through the "suds" cycle for hours at a time.  Does anyone have any helpful advice?  I don't want to keep paying for people that do not fix a darn thing.

I tried to put it through again without soap, same thing happened again, SEVERAL times. The only thing I have been able to do is just turn the power off then start it up again on the spin only cycle and get it out of there! It seems to do this more frequently now and of course it is just off warranty. There has to be something wrong here. I don't use a high sudsing soap and I don't use very much. It doesn't happen only when I wash towels.

SUDS error all the time now, was only on occasion. Use the rinse and spin and it will end cycle but so much for the Low water High Efficiency washer. Any solution would be appreciated.

I am having the same exact problem. Even took to a repairman. Have you found the solution. It gets worse and want spin or rinse clothes. My clothes are sour smelling because soap is still in the

I suggest you disconnect the tube from the water level control pressure switch and blow it out well. Then, if need be, disconnect the drain hose and make sure it is clean as well.

SUD code still coming up after having changed the pump and cleaned the filter.

The Suds error is generated by not using High Efficiency (HE) detergents or using too much of it, or adding additives as well as HE like stain removers, Oxyclean or Calgon. Try a hot wash with no detergent at all. Towels are good, because in most cases, they aren't actually stained.

When you say you cleaned the drain hose, did you remove it, push a broom handle through it and then run a garden hose down it. I have a drain hose that had an apple stalk in it and it had gathered enough fluff to seriously constrict the flow of water.

This error code indicates excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle. This could be caused by using too much detergent or not using High Efficiency (HE) detergent. The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds.Jun 16, 2020

What does it mean if the washer is not draining and has a flashing f where the time shows?

I have the manual for this machine. Under "Code 21" it says the following:
"F21" (Drain Problem) Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug washer or disconnect power. Check the following: Is the drain hose kinked? Is the drain hose frozen? Is the drain hose clogged? Is the drain hose more than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor? Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call for service.
For "SUDS" code, the following:
"SUD" (Suds Routine) When excessive suds are detected, a suds routine automatically starts. This routine removes extra suds and assures proper rinsing of your garments. "SUD" is displayed during rinsing to inform you that Suds Routine was activated. Use only HE (High Efficiency) detergents.
Here is some more information that may help you as well:
"F" Codes other than F20, F21 and F22 Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle. Select DRAIN & SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer. Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call for service.
I hope this is of some help to you, Please rate and comment, Thank You

My maytag clothes washer Bravo quiet series 300, keeps flashing a Sd error code. Or it may be 5d

What does the Sd code mean?

This code indicates that excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle. The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds. When "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the washer pauses the wash action and adds water for additional rinsing. This pause allows the bubbles in the suds to break. This process is necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds.

Concentrated detergents labeled 2x and higher will require a small amount of detergent based on load size. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

Use only HE High Efficiency detergent for BravosTM washers.

Is "Sd" displayed and the wash cycle dial is flashing?

This indicates the washer was not able to clear all the excess suds from the washer. Re-select your desired cycle using cold water. Press Start/Pause. Do not add detergent.

Is "Sd" displayed and the wash cycle dial is not flashing?

If "Sd" is displayed and the wash cycle dial is not flashing, allow the machine to continue running, even if it appears that nothing is happening. When "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the wash action will pause to allow the bubbles in the suds to break, and the washer will add water for better rinsing. This rinsing process is necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds.

Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?

Make sure that the drain hose is not kinked or clogged. Straighten the hose for adequate water flow. Remove any blockage from the drain hose, drainpipe or utility sink. Use the U-shaped drain hose form on the drain hose, and secure the drain hose.

To remove the error display, press Power/Cancel or Pause/Cancel once.

If Power/Cancel or Pause/Cancel does not work:

  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start/Pause.

NOTE: If the error remains on the display, and all of the other questions above have been checked, call for service.

Kenmore Elite washer HE4t keeps giving us a F02 error code??

Check the drain line for kinks or obstructions. The pump should also be checked. Remove the hoses from the pump and using a flashlight, look into the suction port on the pump. Make sure there are no obstructions (like the occasional stray sock). Also check the pump impellers and make sure no blades are missing/broken and that the pump impeller spins freely. If any blades are missing/broken or if you cannot get the impeller to spin freely, the pump is defective. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Got code F02 after cleaning all drain system and replacing pump.

"F02" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

Whirlpool duet sport washer F21 & F33 codes

“F21” is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1.First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2.
2.Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
3.Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
4.Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

F 02 ERROR

Try cycling the washer a few times without a very small load of clothes and no detergent. I assume that you are and have beenm using only HE type detergent and I suggest you try using about 1/2 to 1/3 the amount called for until your system is purged of any and all remaining detergent in the lines. Here are the manufacturers reccommendations to address your problem..

“SUD” (Suds Routine)
When excessive suds are detected, a suds routine
automatically starts. This routine removes extra suds and
assures proper rinsing of your garments. “SUD” is displayed
during rinsing and at the end of the cycle to inform you that
Suds Routine was activated. Use only HE (High Efficiency)
detergents.

Hope this helps you..

“F02” (Drain Problem)
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.
Check the following:
Is the drain hose kinked?
Is the drain hose frozen?
Is the drain hose clogged?
Is the drain hose more than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor?

F02 fault on a hot point washer says motor jammed

Hi,

I suspected suds build up, so I tried both regular wash cycles (e.g. Normal) and Rinse and Drain cycles multiple times to clear suds in the system, but still received the F02 error. Sometimes the SUD error message came up, but not consistently.

I ran the built-in Diagnostics tests. It made it to C:06 then got stuck.

In both scenarios above, the washing machine continued to try to pump water out, despite the fact that all the water had already been drained. After 8 or so minutes, the F02 error came on. As I understand it, if the pressure switch detects either water or suds, it commands the drain pump to continue. After 8 or so minutes, if it's still detecting water or suds, the F02 error is displayed.

I performed the following with no success:
1. Check Wire Harness connections - OK
2. Check Drain pump. – OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
3. Check Drain pump motor - OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
4. Check that the Drain hose and Drain Pump Filter is clear of
foreign objects. – OK, ran a cable through both hose assemblies (exterior and interior) and not blocked.
5. Check the CCU – appears to function normally.
6. There were no kinks in the hoses, nor was the height of the pump beyond what the manual recommends.

After more diagnostics and troubleshooting, I found that the Pressure Switch was stuck and reported the SUDS state (continuity made between contacts 11 and 14 on the Pressure Switch itself). I ran many Rinse and Normal cycles with no detergent and still got this F02 error. I checked the state of the Pressure Switch’s Empty and Level 1 contacts which intermittently reported the correct water level condition (EMPTY and Level 1). In all cases contacts 11 and 14 (SUDS) were continuously made (connected) irrespective of water level, rinse conditions and the use of no detergent.

I removed the pressure switch and tested it by blowing into the inlet and did hear the switch click, so it seemed to work properly. Given the diagnostics above, I concluded that the pressure switch hose must have been clogged.

Good Luck!!

Thanks
