How do I know if I need a new printhead?

Dear
th model and make information could do better. However PAPER button blinks indicate there may be paper jam or dislocation of paper sensor lever, sometimes it happens if the paper pulled in reverse direction a small piece of paper get sticked at the sensor lever and latched the lever, on clearing this printer may resumed.
Thanks.

Printhead stops and message claims there is an obstruction, but nothing there.

Make sure the ink cartridges are fully seated. Also, check for paper jams in the front (remove paper tray), and the back.

Magenta and cyan will not print on my hp officejet pro L7590 -- it started with a paper jam that was corrected - ever since then only the yellow and black will print on the paper -- printheads are good and...

Same thing happened to my printer hp L7590. Printed diagnostic, only black and yellow printed; diagnostic for printhead health Ky=good, MC= good. Only Hp products ever used. Uplugged, & discharged static, cleaned copper parts of printhead. Still no fix. On visual examination of floor of printhead compartment rectangular pad ( approx 1/4" by 1/2") is missing. I can only guess that during the paper jam, somehow the pad got caught up and went awol. Not sure what to do now.

Printer says there is a paper jam and there is no paper in there.

first thing you need to do is will do the overriding the error

1. open the pritner access door fo the printer
2. if the printhead or ink cartirdges already in center remove the ink cartridges and the printhead
3. If the printhead already removed close printer access door., Turn Off the pritner then after 10sex turn It own.

4. Now your pritner should detect no printhead installed not paper Jam., If you still recieved paper jam error without the pritnhead installed you need to have a printer replacement call kodak toll free number 1 800 421 6699 ext 05

5. Now if the message is pritnhead not installed., reseat the printhead and the ink cartordges then close the pritner access door., If your ecived same message paper jam., You need to replace the printhead you may also call kodak 1 800 421 6699, and have your free printhead replacement.

Most of the time overriding the error message solve the problem

Full cartridges and it won't print. lexmark z611

A friend uses methyl alcohol to clean printheads but I don't know how. Perhaps he fills an empty cartridge...

I watched a guy professionally filling cartridges and he used steam to clean those with a printhead.

Printers that have the printheads in assembly instead of integrated into the cartridge can be difficult. Epson are like that and if not in regular use and always with a good supply of ink the printheads dry out and become blocked. The Epson service engineer told me it would be completely uneconomic to dismantle the printer and repair.

I expect it is a similar story with many printers that make a cheap ink claim. Cartridges that have the integral printhead are more expensive but seem less trouble overall.

Claims Paper Jam but there is none

Hello,

Try the steps below.

1.Open the printer access door.
2.Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
3.Reseat the printhead.

a. Lift the printhead release latch
b. Reseat the printhead, pushing firmly on the white label on the printhead (if provided) or the center of the printhead, until it clicks into place.

NOTE: You may also visit www.kodak.com/go/printheadsupport for demonstration on reintalling the printhead

4. Close the access door.
5. wait for the printer to initialize.

If issue persists, the printer itself needs to be replaced. Call 1.800.421.6699.

Thanks.

Empty ink error message

Hi, its sad to say but the printer sounds that needed to be send to the nearest service center in your area. You already reseat & replace the ink cartridge and issue still present. Please call your printer manufacturer so that they can give you more options aside from sending it to service center. Thank you so much,

5300 kodak eazyshare printer

Well, here is the proper way of fixing or troubleshooting that paper jam error in your printer

Open the printer access door and remove both of the ink cartridge, then remove also the printhead, after that close the printer access door, without those parts. Then it will show a message in the printer screen, "Printhead is missing or has come loose" or "Printhead Not Detected" Install the printhead, just the printhead without the ink cartridges. After that close the printer access door. Then it will show you a message"Ink cartridges is not installed, install ink cartridges". then open again the printer access door, then install the black ink cartridge without the color ink cartridge. then close the printer access door, then message must be " Color ink cartridge is not installed, install color ink cartridge" then install the color ink cartridge." the message must be,"New printhead is detected calibration require, load paper and press start"

Thats the way of overiding the paper jam error message of your kodak all in one printer
hope this will help you guys

Paper jam Brother MFC-215C

Norman,

does the printhead run smoothly to the left side of the printer when it is powered on?

If the printhead cant run that freely, it will give you the paperjam message. You have to dismantle the printer again, connect the scanner and cables again when top cover is removed. Press the scanner open contact (opposite to the menu button) and watch the printhead run to the left side. It might be that either the printhead stucks somewhere on its way (press the cover of the printhead. It might be the reason) or the guide rail hinders the printhead to move.
