Our Bosch SHU8805UC/14 dishwasher stopped draining

Our Bosch SHU8805UC/14 dishwasher stopped dranining. Thankfully, we had no drano at home because my husband wanted to solve the problem by pouring some in the dishwasher. Anyway, I cleaned the filter, drained the hose that's attached to the garbage disposal but there is still a pool of water on the bottom. What's the next step? (besides Liquid Plumber)

SOURCE: BOSH won't stop draining

take your dishwasher out and look for a water at the base of your dishwasher.
If that is a water at the botton base, just dry the water and its ok.
if you dont find water at the botton base inside replace the water level system PN= 263834 at repairclinic.com, item# 935595 for 41.00 and that part goes in the left side of your dishwasher

SOURCE: specks of "sand-like" food on my dishes; water not draining

I bought a replacement filter and that dramatically cut down on the amount of "specs." Now there are only a few in some of the glasses. I also cleaned out the drain underneath the screen, there were peas and corn in there, I just used a shop vac to **** them out. Seems to be much better now, I think a good inside cleaning of the washer will help out too. Hope this helps...

SOURCE: Bosch dishwasher: won't fill with water

The flood switch is tripped. This is located under the unit. Unplug or flip the breaker to the dishwasher, take off the black kick plate under the door, 2 screws, and you will see the white plastic "pan". The flood switch is located where you can't really see it but it is on the left hand side wall and is made of styrofoam. The best thing to do is to put some rags in the pan, this is not easy because there is little room to put them, and soak-up the water that has filled the pan. Eventually you will get enough water out that the float will deactivate the switch. What you hear "running" when you turn it on is actually the drain pump, it get activated when the flood switch is tripped.

Dishwasher drain is clog can I put drano or something in there to fix

Generally there is an access point to unblock the drain in a dishwasher. Use drano with extreme caution.

Bosch SHY56A05UC/14

There is a pass through the lower back side of the dishwasher that also has a restraining device to prevent drain hose from being pulled off of drain pump. After passing hose through this opening, connect hose to drain pump. Note: there is another restraining device built into lower plastic housing which has a finger notch to accept hose and keeps the drain hose engaged in to drain pump by not allowing hose to back out of drain pump/ hose interface.
