Reboot the laptop, the Software should ID the Hardware and apply the generic driver, Or, Open Control Panel, Device Manager, San for Hardware Changes, the Scan should ID and apply the driver, reboot. OR, you can find the Dell Latitude D610 Windows XP drivers here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/latitude-d610. Run Windows Updates and Dell Updates for current and up-to-date drivers.

I have a dell latitude D610 laptop that has a 1.73 processor and

Without a real comfort of electrical engineering, you can not replace the processor of a laptop. They are soldered directly onto the motherboard.

What you can try (and I do not reccomend) is to overclock your processor, ie: force it to run faster than it says it can (they are over engineered). Problems doing this can range from extremely hot processors to full irreversable malfunction of your laptop. ie: it will be broken forever.

Some sites says that your Dell D610 can not be overclocked, but if you google: overclock dell latitude D610 you can browse through the results.

Again, unless you are REALLY comfortable doing this and understand that it will most likely 1) void your warranty and 2) possibly destroy your laptop, then dont do it.

My dell latitude d610 tries to load windows, but doesn't complete

The operating system may be corrupted and needs reinstalling or repairing. The manual is available online at dell website. But I doubt anything in the manual will help with this problem. Consult a PC Tech to help you rectify the problem. It cannnot be done through this forum.

Power for battery on DELL laptop Latitude D610 as posted FixYa

In the BIOS, does it show the battery and it's current state? As weird as it sounds, I've fixed an issue like this on a D600 by updating the BIOS to the most current level. Weird, but true.
