How to giving boot with different ways to acer travelmate 2423 laptop

1) You can set your boot options in your bios, watch as you laptop boots, you should see something like "Hit F2 to enter setup". Hit F2, select boot options then choose to boot from CD, HDD or external drive. Take care because you don't want to mess up your Bios. So read the screen carefully before changing anything. When you're happy, select save and exit then reboot, you should then boot from the device of choice in the order of choice.

2) Windows boot options, windows has several options for booting from, including safe mode. To do this, hit F8 several times while the laptop is booting, you should come to a screen with the several options on offer.

When i start up my computer (Accer 4230) i get this message "UNDI PXE 2.0, Media test failure, check cable, exiting PXE ROM. The message repeats over and over and it wont start up. I don't have an...

Hi,

Start the computer and hit the F2 key until you get into the BIOS. When in the BIOS you can see in the Main/general page whether the hard drive is seen by the system. You will see HDD (hard drive) CD-ROM which is the optical disk drive.
If you see the hard drive the look for boot options in the tabs. When you get to boot options set the HDD as the first boot device, save the settings and exit the BIOS.

Hopefully the laptop will restart and boot from the hard drive, thus into Windows.

If the hard drive is not seen in the BIOS then the hard drive has failed and needs replacing.
If you have a BIOS password then start the computer hit F12 repeatedly until you see the boot option menu and choose the HDD.

Regards.

I have an acer travelmate 2000 laptop. i cant remember my windows login password and the bios setup password is not working too.how do i select cd rom as boot device to intall a new operating system.

You need to be the administrator or have the same powers as the admin.. On start up depress F2, F8 or F11. One of those I forget witch one off hand gets you to the menu to change the boot from disk. It is probably set to HDD C 1st, Then D, then CD. click on D to put is at the top of the list.

My son set a hard drive password on my laptop & forgot it.

With most of the Acer's you can get by this problem by removing the cmos / bios battery for a few minutes with the battery and power adapter unplugged.

This will clear the password.

Or you could just ask your son about the password, no?

Can't boot ISO cd on Acer travelmate 4230(Vista) to crack my pass

It's not all that easy to break a password in Vista. If you have an installation disk, do try a dirty install. Click here if you need help with installation.

Bios password problem

try this,

members have reported that they were able to remove their Acer BIOS passwords by simply opening their notebooks and removing the CMOS batteries for 30 minutes.
Once your BIOS password is removed, you will need to press the <F2> key during POST (Power On Self Test) to enter the Acer BIOS setup.

if that don't work, acer support charges 100.00 to reset the password, What a rip-off.
