JBL PB12 is 10 years old and I have red lights but no audio.
My JBL PB12 is 10 years old and has always worked very well. We recently did some construction in our rec room and there was a lot of gyroc dust. I noticed that I had neither green nor red power lights on the unit. I pulled the back off and saw that the fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and now get red lights but no audio and no green lights. I have plugged a different sub woofer into my sw cables from the receiver and it works fine. There is no apparent dust in the JBL so perhaps the construction dust is just a red herring.

If the red light is flashing you have a short in a speaker wire. IF that light is on all the time it indicates that the voltage to the amp is too high.
First try to find the source of your problem. The easiest way would be to try your sub with a different audio source to see if the problem still occurs but is sounds more like there's a problem with the receiver.
JBL is at best a low quality marine grade brand of stereo. It is now garbage. I have worked on hot tub stereos for many years, PolyPlannar is the only one that is any good. If it was bought 30 days ago, where's your warranty?
IT MAY BE A GOOD IDEA TO CHECK THE WIRES BEHIND THE HEAD UNIT AS THIS IS WHERE EVERYTHING IS POWERED FROM, MAYBE A LOOSE EARTH LEAD OR MAYBE A LOOSE POWER LEAD, SOMETHING SOUNDS LOOSE.
