We have a central air unit that is serial number BTR736B100A0 and model number 314127T18. I need to know the size of the unit. What square footage of house is this for?

This is a 3 ton unit. I go tthat from the 36 in your serial number. 36 means 36,000 btu's which equals 3 tons which cools a home 1,500 square feet to 1,700. If this help please rate me and do a testimonial.

Need to know the size (btu) of a old ge unit model# BGTA9601A

This is a large unit going by the model number.12,000 BTU's per ton. It would be a 5 ton unit, or 60,000 BTU's.

I have a studio apartment with a 20000 btu Fujitsu split ac unit. It roars like a hurricane and seems to cost a lot to operate. Has a Mitsubishi rotarty compressor if that helps any . Dont know the age....

On replacement issue Mitsubishi makes one of the most efficient units on the market with actually a higher SEER rating than the most comparable Daikin units. It may be possible the unit is not sized right. Or the insulation value of of the walls, ceiling, floor, windows, etc. is low. Fujitsu unit may need to be serviced and cleaned.

How can the model no. on coleman home ac, split system be used to determine specs? ex. mod. 9436G811 can be read as mfg. in 1994? and 36k btu or 3 ton for next two digits??

The mfg. date is sometimes (depends of the brand and the size of the unit) on the serial number. And the 36 in the model number means exactly what you think 36000 BTU or 3 ton.
