Ipod touch internet not working right

This problem appears most in ZyXEL routers and NETGEAR routers.
On those routers with the original firmware, only ONE computer has internet access at any given time.
So, when your laptop is on you wi-fi, the iPod cannot access the internet.
When the iPod has internet, the laptop cant.

Cannot connect ipod to netgear router. Every time I get same message cannot connect. My son has an ipod too and he has no problems connecting. I called Ipod and they say to call netgear. Netgear wont anser...

First make sure you have the WiFi capability turned on on the Ipod. You can go to settings, and turn it on there. After you have that on, can you see the Network Name? (SSID)When you see the name of the router, select it to connect now you will have to have the Network Key. It is usually located on the adapter(Netgear) itself. You have to make sure that number is the same number unless it has been changed. Your son should be able to see what your Network name is. Once you see that name try to connect, it will ask you for the wireless network key, ou should be able to connect.

Connecting Ipod touch 8(GB) to Wi-fi

netgear support software could be bad. The ipod might not be able to read signal. umm try restoring the ipod. then plug it to your computer let it recognize it and then before you add ANYTHING to it, go straight to the setting and put in the router number and everythign and see if it works. I know people hate it but restoring it usually works. Its just simple small virus's that hit your ipod through songs and stuff and it eventually makes everything stop working. So get back at me let me know if restoring it worked.
