I have a Fender Precision Bass Guitar serial #503122. I'm curious about its age and value? It is in excellent condition.

this should be a 1960 bass and there was 18,000 of them made so it is not rare but the questions that must be asked to put it in the rare category is the bass 100% original = this means everything /pots /pickups /tuners /frets /finish and then the overall functioning of the parts EX. bent tuner that turns restricted causing tuning problems / pots that cut out / input jack that's screwed up / buzzing or severely worn frets /and or fret board wear /worn finish on the body/neck so you must go down the list of everything to come to the overall condition of your bass then you can grade it by it's condition and then see where the basses category is (PRISTINE) =never used still tags & case (fine) = slightly used tags & case (excellent)= used but no finish chips scratches everything original & working so you get the picture I am curious about this because most players know there basses very well so this tells me that you have acquired this bass recently or that it belonged to a family member? and was passed down to you post back with more info/pictures of the bass I'd like to see it Stephen

The rubber band on the lower wheel keeps coming off. Tried adjusting the tension up and down, no help.

sounds like the rubber tire is worn or the lugs that hold it onto the wheel are worn. Also you might want to check the condition of the wheel bearings while you are looking at it. What you might try in the interim is to reverse the tire and see if that helps.

2001 Dodge Durango 4.7 ltr engine. the steering wheel has about an inch to an inch and a half free play at top center before wheels turn. What causes this?

Your Durango has rack and pinion steering.

There are four tie rods ( an inner and outer) on both sides. There is also an intermediate shaft connecting the steering column to the steering rack.

Any of these pieces can be worn and cause the condition you describe.

My favorite way to look for worn steering parts is to a friend sit in the drivers seat and rock the wheel back and forth while I look at the linkages from under the front.

The engine should be off, and the key should be in the "run" position. When you see parts that are connected but not moving in sync, you have found your worn parts.

This condition could also be caused by the rack to body bolts not being tight.

My AIWA turntable (1989 but still in excellent

Please try and lift the turn table off the casing itself (wheel only) and check if it is belt driven, or by gears. If it is belt driven, the belt might be worn or streched, and needs to be replaced

My left front wheel squeeks until i press the break pedal

Most likely the brake shoe in that wheel is worn down to the rivets and those metal rivets are scraping on the drum. If you have a new brake shoe installed right away you will be ok. if you wait, you may also have to have the drums turned. By the way brake shoes come in pairs so they will change both front brake pads. Joe
